Neither team scored very much in the first quarter but Prairie held a 6-4 lead at the end of the period thanks to 4 points from Sydney Bruner and 2 from Leah Higgins.
With Higgins and Bruner as varsity swing players and much of the rest of the squad already having used up quarters in the C game, Prairie put a group on the floor in the second quarter that struggled to score as Kendra Duclos scored the team’s only 2 points as they went 1 for 12 from the field.
Grangeville meanwhile went 8 for 16 in the quarter and took an 8-22 halftime lead.
Leah Higgins came back in the third quarter and sparked the offense by hitting 6 of 8 shots as Prairie cut the deficit to 23-28 by the end of the third period.

Grangeville took back the lead with 1:13 left and added another hoop with 12 seconds to play to take the victory.
In the fourth quarter Grangeville was down to just 4 players as 3 fouled out and a couple other swing players had joined the varsity. Two of those swing players were sent back to the JV bench to give Grangeville enough to field a full team again.
There were no technicals for doing so as each still had the same uniform number.
