Library News
The Library will be closed the week of Christmas and also New Years.  Returning books may be left in the drop box.  Over due charges will be forgiven during the closure.
Story Time is the highlight of the week at the library.  The children attend with enthusiasm and participation as Pollyanna brings the book to life.
The parent support is exciting and very appreciated as they are involved in various ways, providing snacks, decorating for the season both inside and out and contributing in many other ways.  They may even have an entry in the Christmas Parade this year.   Thanks, Parents, for your continued support.  Without you and your children the program would fail.
We invite any family with pre school children to join us on Tuesday morning at 10:30 for an hour of fun and excitement.  If you have errands to run, drop your child off and they will be in good hands for this educational and fun filled hour.
We have several new books for the young adult reader.  If you requested a certain book, call the library to see if it has arrived.  If anyone requests a certain book, if possible, we will order it for you.
We have in the past made our books available to the shut-in's of the area.  Call the library and request what books you would like and someone will deliver it to your home.  In two weeks they will be picked up and taken back to the library.  If additional time is needed, arrangements can be made.
The Chamber of Commerce will meet at the library this Thursday.  The crew is providing a Christmas luncheon for the December meeting.
We have more additions to the 27 suggestions to read to your children.  All are educational as well as entertaining .  Here they are :
The Very Hungry Caterpillar  by Eric Carle
In The Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak
Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Siverstein
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
The Stinky Cheese Man by Jon Scieszka
Harland and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johson
Most of these are available in the library,  or you may want to think about gifting them.  Either way,  it will instill the joy to be found between the pages of a book.
One of the greatest gifts to give your child.
Happy reading!
