Redneck Review
No. 34—12/14/15
Both in Review 7 and in last week's review, PRAYER was mentioned as one way each of us could do our part in solving the many problems plaguing our country and the world today! And both reviews 8 and 33 discussed how a single individual can often mean the difference between success and failure in any effort, the example being the late arrival of one more student who helped to win a stalled-out tug of war!
Could it be possible that the struggle going on today with ISIS, mass immigration, the world economies, the mass murders which are happening, etc., could all be influenced for the better by the action of just one more individual, that maybe you or me?
And a mention last week was made of the widely witnessed happenings at Fatima, Oct. of 1917, where some reported 70,000 people standing in a driving rain saw a sun which suddenly seemed to "dance" in the sky and appear to fall toward earth, then witnessed the immediate disappearance of the rain and water which had saturated everyone. All of which was testified to by pictures of thousands of umbrellas suddenly closed, not needed!
All of this reported on by newspapers in the area, some nearly 50 miles away! And details of the entire event have been treated in dozens of books and can be found on the internet also on hundreds of sites.
Why mention this historic event? Because the biblical Mary who appeared to the three children of Fatima promised a coming period of peace provided certain conditions asked by her were met: Prayer (rosary), sacrifice, five first Saturday's of reparation, and a Papal consecration of Russia with the cooperation of bishops and ministers around the world.
And if such requests were not heeded? Additional wars after WW I, the destruction of entire countries, a rapid spread of atheism, and an all-out assault by the forces of Satan on God-fearing people and their countries. And why Russia? Because the agreed primary source of a growing atheism in the world today can historically be traced to that country!
In review 3 it was stated "You have to know the past to understand the present and to predict the future." So what other occurrences in the past might have some bearing on our future? Well, though it is definitely not "politically correct" nor is is it a common topic of conversation these days, still it is historically true that other approved and authentic appearances of the Mother of God have been recorded in the past, with predictions and warnings of things to happen in the future, and suggestions for their solution!!
Both the doubters and the curious can access the internet with a simple search like "Mary- apparitions" and find hundreds of sites which deal with the topics. Or read the dozens and dozens of books on the subject. Wikipedia on the internet lists investigated and approved sites at Fatima, Lourdes, La Salette, Laus, Knock, Assiut, Guadalupe, and many others. Some like Lourdes have been approved not only by the Catholic Church but also by other churches like the Anglican Community.
"Progressive" people today laugh at such old-fashioned beliefs such as the above, and are more convinced that man and his government can deal with and solve all problems today! But it might be well for us to pause and reflect on the world around us, and decide just how good a job has been done! Maybe decide if an appeal to the God above might be wise!!
