History during the holidays
During the school break, the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude will continue to be open along with the St. Gertrude's Welcome Center Gift Shop.  The Historical Museum features a rich and in-depth collection focusing on the history of North Central Idaho, specifically, mining, ranching, farming, the Chinese in Idaho, the Nez Perce, local characters, antique weapons and more. Many of these exhibits have been recently updated.
The Museum's mission is to preserve the rich heritage of the Camas Prairie, Snake River, Salmon River and surrounding areas. This 8,000 square-foot facility houses collections comprising over 60,000 artifacts, with 10,000 on display. View special exhibits, including the stories of the Benedictine Sisters. Discover the Rhoades Emmanuel Gallery – rare, exquisite Asian and European artifacts dating to the 14th century.
The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude's regular hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Museum will be closed Christmas Day and will reopen Tuesday, December 29. The Museum will also be closed New Year's Day and will reopen Tuesday, January 5.
