Summit wins two league games
The Summit Academy Patriots won a pair of league games this past week to stay unbeaten in league play.
On Thursday, Jan. 14 they hosted Deary and won handily 65-54. On Saturday, Jan. 15 they traveled to Highland and knocked off the Huskies by a score of 58-38.
Vs. Deary
At Cottonwood’s Auxiliary Gym, which was having heating problems, Summit came out and took an 18-12 lead over Deary by the end of the first quarter.
Through the next two quarters Deary was able to stay within 4-6 points as they trailed 24-29 at the half and 41-45 after 3 quarters.
Summit outscored the Mustangs 20-9 in the fourth to pull away for the double digit win.
Tyler Krogh led the scoring with 25 points for the Patriots and added 5 steals. Patrick Chmelik had a double double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and added 6 blocked shots. Chris Osborne scored 9, Dylan Krogh 7, Caleb Currier 5, Jake Stubbers 4 and Dean Stubbers 2.
Deary won the 2-quarter JV contest 23-30.

At Highland
In another league game at Highland, Summit took advantage of a cold-shooting Highland team to roll to a 20-point victory.
Summit led just 11-9 after 1 quarter but upped that to 30-16 by halftime with a 19-7 second quarter.
Summit added 2 points to their lead in the third quarter and 4 more in the fourth.
Tyler Krogh had his second straight 25 point night to again lead the Patriots in scoring and notched a double-double with 11 steals. Chmelik added 8 points and 13 rebounds while Osborne had 7 points and 13 rebounds.
Dylan Krogh and Currier each added 7 points while Jake Stubbers scored 4.
The Patriots improve to 5-0 in league play and are 8-2 overall.
