February events for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ,
We are in the season of love.  Valentines day brings with it the invitation to express our appreciation and affection for the ones we love.  Lent also brings it the invitation to express our love for God through acts of sacrifice, prayer, and giving.  It is in these acts of love that we move out in action in through small group learning, Bible study, prayer, service, socials, and even dance!  Please come and join us as we celebrate God’s love for us and our love for God and others!
We will begin the month with gathering at the On Mighty Grounds youth room on Feb. 1st at 7:00 p.m to share about lessons we learn from our Steubenville video presenter.  All High School youth are invited to this engaging session as we challenge each other to grow in discipleship.  Snacks and drinks will be provided.
On Feb. 3rdat 7:00 our High School youth are invited to night of prayer.  We will meet as a group and break off into smaller groups to pray with and for each other.  If you are in High School and are in need of prayer this night is for you!  I would especially encourage all God Squad members to be present as you prepare to help lead ICYC.  Dinner will be provided at 6:30.
On Feb. 5th all of our High School youth and Jr. High youth are invited to spend an hour with our Lord at Adoration at St. Mary’s at 10:00 pm.   This is the greatest invitation ever!  You get to be alone, in the quiet with our Lord.  Come and see what he wants to tell you!
On Feb. 7th the adults and youth who will be welcomed into the Church at Easter will be attending the 8:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s.  They will be sent to see the Bishop on Feb. 15th  at the Rite of Election at All Saints Church in Lewiston.   Please pray for all of them, especially our young person, Jordyn Higgins.   The Haiti team will also be delivering chili and cinnamon rolls during the Super Bowl game.  All team members please meet at the Church office @ 9:30 to prepare for the day.
On Feb. 8th our God Squad leaders are invited to the OMG at 7:00 to practice their monologues, skits, and dance.  Please pray for these young people as they prepare to help lead our Idaho Catholic Youth Convention in March.  Our God Squad team members are; Anthony Karel, Nicole Poxleitner, Sierra Latimer, Sarah Seubert, Maria Munger, Faith Uhlenkott, Darlene Gehring, Mitchel Nuxoll , Kyle Tillinghast, and Marisa Lustig.
On Feb. 10 we will begin our Lenten journey by meeting at the youth room at 6:00 p.m. for soup and sandwiches.  Following our meal we will go to St. Anthony’s for Mass.  Any High School or Jr. High youth interested in joining us please meet us at the OMG.  I look forward to walking this Lenten journey with you!
Enjoy Presidents day on Feb. 15th because there is no school.  I will be going down to Lewiston with Jordyn to the “Rite of Election” at All Saints Church at 7:00 p.m. to see the Bishop.  It will be a great night as these two beautiful young women continue their journey toward Baptism.
On Feb. 17th I am tentatively planning a movie night for the Jr. High and High School.  I will be heading down to the girls state tournament but will try to get someone to cover for me. Please watch the bulletin for more information.  On my return from state I will be going up to Moscow to help lead the Busy Person Retreat for college students.  I will be doing Spiritual Direction from Sunday to Thursday with the young adults at St. Augustine’s Center.  Please pray for the students and all of the directors at this retreat. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated!
The Confirmation class will meet at the CEC on Feb. 21st and Feb. 28th.at 7:00 p.m.  Please make sure you have begun your work on your saint report.  We will talk about the Bishop letter on Feb. 28th.  The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place at St. Mary’s at 7:00 p.m. on April 20th.
Remember to love in all things.  It is here we change the world and serve our Lord!  Happy St. Valentines Day everyone!
In Christ’s Service,
Debbie
