Event to help pay for new boiler
St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation will hold their annual Mardi Gras fundraising event on March 12th at the Cottonwood Community Hall. Tickets are $35 each and are available at SMH or by calling Natalie Latimer at 208-962-2463. There are a limited number of tickets being sold; so make sure and get yours early!
“The Mardi Gras event is especially important this year as the SMH Foundation is raising money to replenish funds spent on a new boiler system for the hospital,” explains Jim Rehder, SMH Foundation Board Member.“This is a $239,000 project and the SMH Foundation wants to contribute $160,000. The old system was out-of-date, inefficient (under 50% efficiency), expensive and at constant risk for breaking down. The new system will reduce man hours by 500 hours and will run at up to 98% efficiency. In addition to that, it will ensure that our hospital has heat and warm water to keep our patients as comfortable as possible during the cold winter months.”
“As you all know, the hospital is a major cornerstone to our community and needs our ongoing financial support.  I think we can all agree that our non-profit health care facilities, physicians, and staff need our financial support to keep health services operating,” says Rehder.
The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Mardi Gras committee has been hard at work planning this event. The evening will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a social hour followed by dinner catered by Taste of Art, silent and live auctions, dancing and casino games.  The dress for this event is dressy casual to semi-formal.
“We’ve added some new packages to the silent and live auctions this year and we think this is going to be a really fun and exciting event!” says Matt Forge, CAO of SMH. “We hope to see everyone there that night and really appreciate the support of our sponsors and everyone who has contributed an auction item.” Sponsorship opportunities are still available by contacting Ashley Steinbruecker at 208-476-8033 or Natalie Latimer at 208-962-2463.

The Mardi Gras event will be held to help offset the costs of installing the newer, more efficient and reliable system. Photo provided by St. Mary’s Hospital.
