Register for Ag Safety Day
The annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 at the Lewis County Fairgrounds in Nezperce.
The day will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is geared towards teaching safety to those aged 5 to 12 years old.
Registration forms are available at various locations or can be done by contacting Marci Stapleton (208/937-2348) by Wednesday, May 4. There is a registration fee of $5 a child or $10 for a family which includes lunch, snacks, safety goody bag, t-shirts for the youth and educational materials.
Families are welcome and adult volunteers are always needed
Safety stations will feature: ATV safety; chemical safety; bicycle safety; tractor safety; fire safety; combine safety; water safety, first aid and gun safety (subject to change due to availability of instructors)
During the day youth will learn about common safety hazards and how to avoid them through many fun, hands-on activities.
