May activities for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ,
The sounds and smells of Spring bring light to our hearts as we anticipate the days of summer and the ending of another school year.  We love the greatness that this time of year holds as we spend more time outside with family and friends.  God is so good to us, revealing his face at every turn in our lives.  During this month of May, let’s join together as a youth group to embrace this gracious God through work, prayer, planning, walking, sharing and celebrating.
On May 4 the Steubenville Northwest team heading to Spokane on July 29th will meet at the OMG room at 7:00 to plan summer fundraisers to cover half the cost of the trip.  If you plan on attending this conference and are In need of additional funds to pay for the event please be present.  Your input is essential to our fundraising planning.  On May 6th all youth are invited to spend some quiet time adoring the Lord at St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 p.m.  Rest in the quiet of an hour without your cell phone or outside noise and see what happens inside your heart. Jesus shows up!  On May 7 the Haiti team and other youth will meet at St. Mary’s parking lot at 8:00 a.m. for our trip to Grangeville.  We will be walking in the “Walk for Life”.  The money raised for this walk will help support the Hope Pregnancy Center in Grangeville and Kamiah.  If you are interested in donating to this cause please contact Debbie!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful Mom’s out there.  May God bless you abundantly today and always!
The youth who plan on attending the High School Leadership Camp in Cascade on July 8th -11th please meet at the OMG youth room on May 11 at 7:00 p.m. to plan summer fundraisers to cover half of your cost for the camp.  It is important that you attend this meeting if plan on attending the camp.  The Confirmation class will have its final gathering at the CEC at 7:00 p.m. on May 15th.  All youth who have been confirmed are invited to attend, root beer floats will be provided!
The High School small group will meet for Catholic “Q” and “A” on May 16th at the OMG youth room at 6:30 for pizza, 7:00 for faith questions, and we will finish our night with a walk at 8:00 p.m.  All High School youth are invited to this group session.  On May 18th the Junior High youth are invited to a survey night.  They will be asked what they would like to happen this summer and next Fall.  Anyone who is in Jr. High right now as well as those going into 7th grade next year is invited to attend.  We will meet at the OMG youth room at 7:00. Your input is very important for planning.  Please tell your friends! The graduation Mass for all high school graduates is on May 22nd at St. Anthony’s in Greencreek.  The graduates are asked to wear their graduation gowns to the Mass and arrive at the Church at 9:30 for line up.  The women of St. Anthony’s will host a reception following the Mass.  Please join with me in congratulating these young people for a job well done!
On the 25th of May we will have an end of the school bash for all of the youth and their parents.  You are invited to St. Mary’s Church at 6:30 for food, fire, and fun.  We will play games, have a slide show of the year’s events, and feast on ‘smores.  Please join us for this great celebration of a school years accomplishment.  Please know, moms and dads, your presence is really important!  We can’t wait to see you!
The end of the school year brings with it the invitation for growth in your faith through gathering in many different ways, whether it is a fundraiser, a time of adoration, planning for mission, sharing food, or meeting to discuss the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.. It’s all opportunity to step forward and fill yourself with positive grace filled experiences.  It is here that faith comes alive and God shows up! Happy May everyone.
Debbie
