Sonnen goes on Honor Flight
Ron Sonnen, a local VFW member, was recently chosen to go on the Northwest Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
The purpose of the trip is for them to see how much America appreciates the sacrifices they made to give us the liberty and freedom we, and much of the world, enjoy today.
The entire cost of this trip has been paid for with donations made by citizens who want to show their appreciation and gratitude.
The memorials that were seen are the Marine Corps, Air Force, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and Navy. He also visited the Women in Military Service Museum and the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns at the Arlington National Cemetery.
21 WWII, 55 Korean and 21 Vietnam veterans along with 60 guardians were in attendance.
It was a well-organized trip that was enjoyed by all.
