Mountain to Meadow running event set for June 25
The 9th Annual Mountain to Meadow Event will be held on June 25 this year. This scenic run, organized by Discover Your Northwest, will begin at the Lolo Pass Visitor Center (elevation 5225) on Highway 12 at the Idaho-Montana border.  The half marathon winds for 13.1 miles through forests of Englemann Spruce and sub-alpine fir with dramatic views of the Bitterroot Mountains in the distance. All courses take participants along Packer Meadows, a historically significant and beautiful site along the Nez Perce and Lewis & Clark trails.
Registration for the race is online at www.runlolopass.org.  A new twist this year is that it will be a twilight event with the theme “Howling at the Moon.”  There will be interpretive programs on wolves at the Visitor Center before and during the race. We will have chip timing for all participants.
Start time is 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time at the Lolo Pass Visitor Center.  Registration is $30.00 and closes on June 24.  If there are still slots available, same day registration will be $33.00. Glow sticks will be available for all participants.  Kids under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult, and four legged friends are welcome!
Proceeds from this event are used to benefit the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests’ Lolo Pass Visitor Center.  These proceeds are used to fund projects that enhance the experiences of visitors to Lolo Pass year-round.
