Four compete at HOSA Nationals
Four students from the Prairie High School HOSA Chapter attended the HOSA National conference in Nashville Tennessee In June.
Leah Higgins competed in Medical Photography, Madison Ulmer competed in Healthy Lifestyles and Heathcare Issue, Kristyna Krogh competed in Dental Science and Ashleigh Johnson competed in Job Seeking Skills; Ashleigh is also one of the Idaho State HOSA officers.  Each one of these girls had to qualify at the state level in order to complete at the National level.
“I was very proud of each of these girls; just making it to Nationals is a great accomplishment and Leah Higgins made it to the second round at Nationals; which is huge,” commented HOSA advisor, Cheri Holthaus.  “There were over nine thousand students from all over the United State at this National conference; it was so nice for these four girls to meet students from other all the other states.”
In additional to attending the conference the girls had some spare time so they were able to go to the Grand Ole Opry and also go on a ‘tour of the stars’.
“We would like to extend a special thanks to St. Mary’s Hospital, Kamiah Community Credit Union, Mader/Central Idaho Agency and Clearwater Mills for their generous donations which helped to fund this trip,” said Holthaus.  “We would also like to thank all those who purchased candy bars and pizza coupons which likewise helped fund this trip,” said Cheri.
