Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle:

Redneck Review
No. 71 8/29/2016
With only about two months remaining before we go to the polls to select our president, an election which offers two of the most controversial candidates in the history of our nation, national news paints a dismal picture of the choice we must make!
On the one side is Donald Trump who continues to be ridiculed by cartoons and articles painting him totally incompetent. Of late though, evidence has come to light that not only is he a very successful businessman, but also a compassionate and caring man, who has helped out over his lifetime, several individuals who were dealing with personal tragedy. And recent internet sites are documenting dozens of national celebrities who endorse him for president. Among these are Tom Brady and Mike Ditka of football fame, Wayne Newton of entertainment fame, Ted Nugent, Phil Robertson of "Duck Dynasty," NBA retired ball player Dennis Rodman, Charlie Sheen, and a host of other celebrities.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton continues to be plagued by her emails, with more and more evidence appearing in the national news, appearing in our local Tribune again this week under a headline "Many donors to Clinton Foundation met with her at State." The article states later, "85 donors contributed as much as $156 million. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million. The findings that were released by the Associated Press "represent the first systematic effort to calculate the scope of the intersecting interests of Clinton Foundation donors and people who met with Clinton or spoke to her by phone about their needs."
Also disturbing the democratic candidate and her supporters are the recent news articles questioning her health, and showing videos of her being helped up stairs by attendants. And of course, the rise of several books concerning the Clintons on the nation's best sellers list also has backers concerned.
But my intent recently is to review today's America with the country we older folks remember from several decades ago. Last week we quoted several Marxists promoting socialism and atheism, and the destruction of our way of life. We also added several goals of communism found in Cleon Skousen's book, THE NAKED COMMUNIST. In the space remaining, other significant items will be posted affecting the society we live in today.
1) Since 2007, the percentage of Americans calling themselves Christian has dropped 7.8 %, from 78.4 to 70.6 % since 2007. Internet site: America's Changing Religious Landscape. From the same source, unaffiliated and non-Christian faiths have increased 7.9 %. Atheists and agnostics have increased 3.1%.
2) Millenials (age up to 30) favor Socialism by 49 or 50 %, over Capitalism 45 to 46 %. At the same time, most internet sites show Socialism's close connection to Communism, and cite Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, and others as Socialist/Communist states.
3) The national debt in 1950 was $291 billion, whereas the 2016 debt is about $19 trillion.
Recalling last weeks quotations and goals, one can see that the atheistic and socialistic Communist party has been very successful in moving the world and America towards its ultimate goal, a one-world atheistic materialistic utopia on earth! How about one more Lenin quotation related to this: "Marxists have never forgotten that violence will be an inevitable accompaniment of the collapse of capitalism." To them, Isis might well be nothing more than a temporary distraction on the way to that end!
