Hospital again sponsoring Angel Tree
For the 20th year, St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics will sponsor the Christmas “Angel Tree,” which helps match generous donors with those in need of gifts for children and food for families.
Individuals in need are encouraged to call Stacie Jackson, project coordinator at 962-2326 (days) and 962-3201 (evenings).  She will confidentially record the child’s name, age, gender, clothing sizes and gift requests.  All requests must be made by December 10.
On November 26, tags bearing only a number to protect each child’s privacy and a list of the child’s wishes will be hung on the Angel Tree outside of the hospital Chapel.  Individuals interested in fulfilling a wish are asked to take a tag, shop for the child’s gift choices and return the unwrapped gift with the tag to Jackson at St. Mary’s Physical Therapy by December 17.   Previously requested gifts and food baskets will be distributed on Friday, December 19, 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Clinic.
In conjunction with the Cottonwood Food Bank, SMH volunteers prepare food boxes for “Angel Tree” families as well as elderly residents in the community.  Requests for food boxes should also be directed to Jackson.
“The holidays can be difficult when there are financial strains and we want to do our part in easing those burdens through the “Angel Tree,” said Jackson.  “Our community has always been very generous and we appreciate the opportunity to facilitate happier holidays for our neighbors.”  Those willing to help can purchase gifts or send a financial contribution to “Angel Tree Project,” Stacie Jackson c/o St. Mary’s Hospital, PO Box 137, Cottonwood, ID   83522.
