Cottonwood City Council meets
The Cottonwood City Council held their regular November meeting Monday, Nov. 14.
The issue of well #5 and ag chemical applicators at the airport was discussed. Pat Holthaus reported there are no regulations for containment at any area airports. The council did ask city attorney Joe Wright to look at the ordinance and maybe come up with some kind of permitting system,
The employee insurance benefits were discussed. VEBA requires only that the city offer a program. 3 options were discussed and they will have the city employees look at them and choose the one they like. Adoption of a plan would occur either at a special meeting or at the regular December council meeting.
In reports Holthaus reported the city pumped 3.2 million gallons of water and sold 2.3 million for a loss of 26%. Much of that can be accounted for with the flushing of hydrants for chlorination.
Ron Grant reported the sewer department got a new camera to better scope out the sewer lines for blockages.
Shelli Schumacher reported work has started on redoing the concrete at the south end of the hall.
Grant reported the fire department had one mutual aid call from Grangeville but it was cancelled before they could respond.
In new business the council approved the Idaho County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan resolution.
The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m. The next regular meeting is set for Monday, December 13 at 7 p.m.
