K.C.'s hold hoop shoot
The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Hoop Shoot was held on Saturday, January 28. There were 113 boys and girls from Prairie School District and Summit Academy who participated. Their ages were 9 to 14 years old.
The winners of the Cottonwood Council 1389 Knights of Columbus moved on as district winners and shoot another round of 25 shots for state competition. Each district winner received a championship certificate and a medallion.
The 9 year old champions were Alexia Schumacher for the girls  and Philip Schwartz for the boys.
Isabella Walsh was the 10 year old girls champion while Noah Behler was the boys winner.
In the 11 year old bracket MaKayla Rose was the girls champion and Cody Kaschmitter was the boys champion.
12 year old winners for the girls and boys divisions were Delaney Lockett and Weston Riener.
The 13 year old girls division was won by Hope Schwartz and the boys by Brody Hasselstrom.
14 year old champions were Lexi Currier in the girls bracket and Harley Keller in the boys.
This year’s shooters have a possible opportunity to accomplish a state title and go on to international competition with their scores.
The Cottonwood Knights of Columbus would like to thank Prairie Elementary, Prairie High School and Summit Academy for allowing us to make this event possible.
