South teams win all-star games
The District 2 All-Star games were both won by the South teams in action held at Lapwai High School Tuesday, March 7.
The girls South team won 64-36 led by 3 Lapwai seniors. Prairie’s Kylie Tidwell scored 4 points in the game while Chaye Uptmor and Summit’s Ally Sonnen did not score.
The boys South team won 91-88. Prairie’s Gavin Branson was the second leading scorer with 19 points which included three 3-pointers. Summit student Patrick Chmelik, who played for Prairie this year as Summit was unable to field a team of their own, scored 2 points and was named defensive player of the game.
Chaye Uptmor was awarded one of two $300 scholarships. The other went to Deary’s Seth Winter.

Pirates named to all-state tournament teams
Several Prairie players were named to the idahosports.com all-state tournament teams.
For the girls team Kylie Tidwell and Angela Wemhoff were both named to the all-tournament second team with Leah Higgins receiving honorable mention. Josie Peery was named 6th man.
For the boys team Hunter Chaffee was named to the first team with Patrick Chmelik named to the second team and Tyson Schlader to the third team. Spencer Schumacher was named 6th man.
