Higgins, Glimp, two relays take firsts at Kamiah meet
Prairie had 4 first place finishes at an 11-school track meet at Kamiah Thursday, March 23.
Jordyn Higgins took first place in the 400 meter dash in 1:06.19 and Prairie also won both the 4x200 relay and 4x400 relay. Theresa Wemhoff, Ciara Chaffee, Higgins and Laney Uhlenkott made up the 4x200 relay team which won in 1:56.56 and Higgins, Chaffee, Uhlenkott and Chaye Uptmor were on the 4x400 team which won in 4:37.0.
For the boys Ryan Glimp took first in the discus at 138’3”. Glimp was also 11th in the shot put at 33’0”.
Other girls results:
The 4x100 team of Wemhoff, Uhlenkott, Higgins and Chaffee took 2nd in 56.20.
Uptmor had a pair of 2nd place finishes in the 3200 in 12:54.81 and the 1600 in 6:11.84.
Chaffee took 2nd in the 800 in 2:40.72.
Wemhoff was 2nd in the 200 meter dash in 29.56, just ahead of Uhlenkott who was 3rd in 29.83.
Maria Schmidt was 5th in the 400 in 1:13.40, 18th in the 200 in 32.12 and 20th in the 100 in 15.48.
Jacey Rambo was 4th in the 800 in 3:01.37, 8th in the 400 in 1:16.64. and 5th in the 1600 in 7:01.05.
Madison Ulmer was 5th in the discus at 97’2” and 10th in the shot put at 26’1½”.
Bailie Gehring was 6th in the discus at 87’9” and 15th in the shot at 23’9”.
Emma Gehring was 9th in the shot at 26’3” and 10th in the discus at 73’9”.
The girls team placed third with 97 points.
Other boys results:
Sean Spencer had a pair of second place finishes. He was 2nd in the 400 in 55.78 and 2nd in the 1600 at 5:02.8. He was also 8th in the long jump at 17’10”.
Patrick Chmelik was 2nd in the high jump at 5’8”.
Carson Schmidt was second in the discus at 120’9” and 4th in the shot at 37’1”.
Lucas Wemhoff had four top 5 finishes. He was third in the 200 in 24.39, third in the 400 in 56.56, 4th in the 100 in 11.82 and 5th in the long jump at 18’1”.
Anthony Karel was 4th in the 800 in 2:17.78 and 10th in the 400 in 59.62.
Grant Gehring was 6th in the 3200 in 12:11.54 and 16th in the 400 in 1:05.20.
Tucker Hibbard was 7th in the discus at 101’3” and 18th in the shot at 30’6½”.
RaiceDalgliesh was 13th in the 100 in 12.67.
Caleb McGee was 18th in the 200 in 27.57 and 20th in the 100 in 13.13.
Hayden Uhlenkott was 23rd in the 200 in 29.36, 10th in the discus in 95’9” and 28th in the shot at 26’1”.
Luis Samper-Flores was 15th in the 400 in 1:03.90 and 26th in the 200 in 30.50.
Ryan Arnzen was 29th in the shot at 25’8” and 30th in the discus at 58’4”.
The medley relay team of McGee, Samper-Flores, Dalgliesh and Karel was 4th in 4:40.99.
The 4x200 team of Dalgliesh, McGee, Samper-Flores and Karel was 5th in 1:47.34.
The 4x100 team of Glimp, Schmidt, Uhlenkott and Hibbard (a throwers team) was 10th in 56.22.
As a team the boys placed third with 93 points.
The track team’s next meet won’t be until after Spring Break when they travel to Orofino on April 13. Prairie will not attend the meet at Lapwai on March 29 due to other conflicts that evening.
