Old Opera House in Kooskia hosting an opportunity
The Old Opera House Theatre is hosting an opportunity at the Kooskia Community Building on Tuesday, April 18 at 7 p.m.
This will be the first opportunity to purchase shares in the Old Opera House, get your questions answered, or otherwise support the community in our goal to raise $199,000 by June 1 to acquire this historical building for restoration.
We will have a business plan available to review, with organizational plans, financial projections, and other important details. Each share will be $500 and worth 1 vote at the shareholders meeting.
If you would like to contribute a smaller amount, we have a bank account set up at Freedom NW Credit Union, in Kooskia, under the name  “Old Opera House Incorporated”. Please consider this option before our deadline if the cost of a share is more than you can afford. All contributions are gratefully accepted!  Every penny counts!
For more information, or if you cannot attend, please call Cindy Lane 983-3875, Gloria Taylor 983-0314, or Sheryl White (206) 226-9682.  Please leave your name and phone number with your message so we can return your call, if we are unable to answer immediately.
Our goals include:
Preserving the Opera House theatre for performances and concerts
Transforming the event center into an activity/cultural community center
Increasing the revenue of business owners via sponsorship, tourism, and other marketing strategies
Provide education and cultural opportunities for children and adults alike
Support the economy of the surrounding area
When we purchase the building it will become under “New Management.”  Please come to the meeting and invite friends to come with you.  We want to hear your ideas and suggestions.  There is another buyer waiting in the wings for us to fail at this task, and if we do fail, the Opera House will be re-purposed for a completely different use, and will be lost to the community forever.  If for any reason we are unable to complete the purchase by the deadline, all monies will be returned.
