Track team competes at 2 meets
The Prairie track team participated in two track meets this past week, at Lapwai on Wednesday, April 19 and at Kamiah on Friday, April 21.
At Lapwai
In the meet at Lapwai, which was rescheduled to Wednesday, April 19 from Tuesday, April 18, Prairie’s boys and girls each won the team titles in a 7 school meet which included 6 White Pine League teams plus Pomeroy.
Prairie’s boys totaled 119 points to edge out runner-up Deary and the girls had 114 points, 12 better than runner-up Logos.
For the boys team Anthony Karel won the 800 in 2:19.25 and Ryan Glimp won the discus with a mark of 130’2”.
For the girls Chaye Uptmor won both the 1600 in 5:47.28 and the 3200 in 12:33.65 while Mykaela McWilliams won the 100 hurdles in 16.85. The girls team also had wins in the 4x200 relay with Theresa Wemhoff, Jordyn Higgins, Laney Uhlenkott and McWilliams posting a time of 1:55.22 and the 4x400 relay where the team of Wemhoff Higgins, Ciara Chaffee and Uptmor won with a time of 4:33.44.
In other boys results Lucas Wemhoff was 4th in the 100 in 11.81, 4th in the 200 in 25.28, 5th in the 400 in 57.44 and 2nd in the long jump at 17’6½”.
Glimp was also 5th in the shot put at 37’9½”.
Karel was also 7th in the long jump at 15’0”.
Patrick Chmelik was 2nd in the high jump at 5’8”,  4th in the triple jump at 36’6” and 6th in the 200 at 25.43.
Grant Gehring was 2nd in the 3200 at 11:56.29, 6th in the 1600 in 5:44.49 and 11th in the 400 in 1:08.04.
Sean Spencer was 2nd in the 300 hurdles in 45.60, 3rd in the 1600 in 5:00.98 and 5th in the long jump at 16’3”.
Carson Schmidt was 3rd in the shot put at 38’10” and 3rd in the discus at 119’2”.
James Villamor was 3rd in the 3200 at 13:06 and 8th in the 1600 at 5:55.40.

Caleb McWilliams was 8th in the shot at 33’10½” and 8th in the discus at 100’1”.
RaiceDalgliesh was 7th in the 400 in 1:00.39, 11th in the 200 in 26.89,  and 16th in the 100 in 12.64.
Caleb McGee was 9th in the 400 in 1:04.32 and 15th in the 100 in 12.60.
Luis Samper-Flores was 10th in the 400 in 1:04.87 and 14th in the 200 in 29.32.
Hayden Uhlenkott was 9th in the discus at 98’9” and 20th in the shot at 25’2”.
Tucker Hibbard was 15th in the shot at 29’2½” and 12th in the discus at 82’3”.
Ryan Arnzen was 17th in the shot at 26’4” and 17th in the discus at 61’1”.
The 4x200 relay team of Karel, McGee, Samper-Flores and Dalgliesh was 2nd in 1:44.75
The 4x400 team of Karel, Samper-Flores, Gehring and McGee was 3rd in 4:21.73.
The 4x100 team of Glimp, McWilliams, Uhlenkott and Schmidt was 6th in 52.38.
In other girls results Higgins was 2nd in the 400 in 1:06.39.
Chaffee was 2nd in the 800 in 2:36.31 and 6th in the 200 in 30.61.
Madison Ulmer was 2nd in the discus at 92’3” and 3rd in the shot at 26’9½”.
Theresa Wemhoff was 4th in the 100 in 13.64.
Uhlenkott was 4th in the 200 in 29.37.
Kristyna Krogh was 4th in the 3200 in 14:17.55 and 5th in the 1600 in 6:35.59.
Maria Schmidt was 7th in the 400 in 1:15.24, 9th in the 200 in 31.32 and 13th in the 100 in 15.02.
Bailie Gehring was 4th in the discus at 82’1” and 11th in the shot at 22’10”.
Emma Gehring was 6th in the discus at 76’1” and 7th in the shot at 25’2”.
The 4x100 team of Wemhoff, Higgins, Uhlenkott and McWilliams was 2nd in 54.41.
At Kamiah
In a 9-school meet at Kamiah, McWilliams won both the 100 and 300 hurdles while Uptmor won the 1600.
McWilliams had a time of 17.32 in the 100 hurdles and 51.4 in the 300 hurdles.
Uptmor won the 1600 with a time of 5:45.90. That time was only a second and a half shy of the school record she set last year. She was also 2nd in the 800 in 2:31.5.
Prairie also had wins in all 4 girls relays. The 4x100 team of Wemhoff, Higgins, Uhlenkott and McWilliams won in 54.00. The 4x200 team of Wemhoff, Higgins, Uhlenkott and Chaffee won in 1:56.30. The 4x400 team of Wemhoff, Chaffee, Higgins and Uptmor won in 4:30.20. Finally the medley team of Wemhoff Chaffee, Uhlenkott and Higgins won in 2:02.20.
The only event winner for the boys team was Spencer in the 1600 where he won with a time of 5:02.20. He was also 4th in the 300 hurdles in 45.00 and 10th in the long jump with a mark of 16’7½”.
Others girls results show Chaffee finishing 3rd in the 800 at 2:41.70.
Krogh was 4th in the 3200 in 14:12.18, 5th in the 1600 in 6:43.40 and 7th in the 400 at 1:19.70.
Ulmer was 4th in the discus at 96’2” and 7th in the shot at 26’10½”.
Schmidt was 5th in the  400 at 1:11.0; 9th in the 100 at 15.20 and 10th in the 200 at 31.50.
Emma Gehring was 6th in the shot at 27’6½” and 12th in the discus at 68’8”.
Bailie Gehring was 7th in the discus at 86’11” and 12th in the shot at 24’½”.
As a team the girls placed 2nd with 111 points behind McCall-Donnelly’s 129.
In other boys results Chmelikwas 2nd in the high jump at 5’8”, 5th in the triple jump at 36’8½”, 3rd in the 400 at 55.9 and 21st in the 200 in 35.10.
Gehring was 2nd in the 3200 in 11:55.93, 5th in the 1600 in 5:36.0 and 6th in the 800 in 2:36.70.
Wemhoff was 3rd in the 200 in 25.20, 8th in the 100 in 12.09 and 7th in the long jump at 17’2½”.
Glimp was 3rd in the shot put at 39’3½” and 3rd in the discus at 128’5”.
Schmidt was 4th in the shot at 37’7½” and 8th in the discus at 112’1”.
Villamor was 5th in the 3200 in 13:41.17, 8th in the 800 in 2:47.50 and 10th in the 1600 in 5:56.40.
McWilliams was 7th in the shot at 34’4” and 18th in the discus at 78’11”.
McGee was 11th in the 200 in 26.70 and 16th in the 100 at 13.10.
Samper-Flores was 8th in the 800 in 1:03.70; 14th in the 200 in 28.70 and 19th in the 100 in 13.80.
Karel was 13th in the long jump at 14’8½”.
Uhlenkott was 10th in the discus at 107’3” and 25th in the shot at 25’1½”.
Hibbard was 12th in the discus at 95’8” and 18th in the shot at 28’0”.
Arnzen was 21st in the shot at 26’1” and 29th in the discus at 54’2”.
Dalgliesh was 25th in the 200 in 38.90.
The 4x400 relay team of Karel, Dalgliesh, Spencer and Wemhoff took 2nd in 3:53.30.
The 4x200 team of Dalgliesh, McGee, Schmidt and Samper-Flores was 4th in the 1:48.50.
The 4x100 team of Dalgliesh, Karel, Gehring and McGee was 5th in 51.10.
As a team Prairie placed 4th with 99 points, behind Orofino, McCall-Donnelly and Kamiah.
