Public invited to community meeting
The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Salmon River Ranger District is holding a community meeting and a field trip to seek input from interested parties and stakeholders regarding a potential project south of Grangeville.
A community meeting will be held Wednesday, October 4 from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. (PDT) at the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Grangeville Office (104 Airport Road, Grangeville).
A field trip will be held Tuesday, October 10 from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (PDT). Participants will meet at the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Grangeville Office (104 Airport Road, Grangeville) at 9:00 a.m. before heading to the field site. Please plan to take your own vehicle; carpooling is encouraged. Participants should pack lunch and plenty of water.
At the community meeting, officials will introduce the potential project area, resource conditions, and desired outcomes, while explaining the collaborative process for developing and implementing the project. During the field trip, officials will take the public to the proposed project area to discuss current conditions and potential treatment options and answer questions from the public.
If you are planning to attend the field trip on October 10, please RSVP to Zoanne Anderson, Team Lead (zanderson@fs.fed.us or 208-963-4209) so officials can estimate the number of attendees.
This potential project, called End of the World, is located south of Grangeville. The approximately 49,500-acre project would address forest health and hazardous fuel concerns in the project area. Information about the End of the World potential project can be found at https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=52541.
Please direct any questions to Zoanne Anderson; zanderson@fs.fed.us or (208) 963-4209.
