at Lakeland
The Prairie Wrestling team competed at the Lakeland JV Tournament this past Saturday, Dec. 16, instead of the Tri-State Meet at Coeur d’Alene that was on their schedule. The meet was stopped at 3 p.m. due to travel concerns for many of the teams and the round robin brackets weren’t all completed. In the 106 lb. A bracket Sierra McWilliams wrestled twice and won both matches. She won by pin over Nick Lara of Coeur d’Alene in 2:15 and by pin over Brent Belsby of Cheney in 3:49. The 113 lb. bracket was completed with Dalton Ross taking 2nd place. He won by 6-1 decision over Owen Hemphill of Lewiston, won by pin in 3:00 over Avery Mcspadden of Post Falls and lost by pin in what amounted to the championship match to Nate Bohl of Post Falls in 55 seconds. Logan Wimer wrestled in the 132 lb. C bracket. He picked up his first win of the year, a pin in 2:39 over Noah Gwyn of Mead. He lost his other two matches, by pin in 2:23 to Cameron Albert of Sandpoint and by pin in 1:20 to Hunter Despino of Cheney. Lane Remacle wrestled in the 138 lb. C bracket. He wrestled 3 times, losing by pin in all of them. He lost in 53 seconds to Bryce Davis of Post Falls, in 4:11 to Calvin Word of Mead and in 1:08 to Cody Carvajal of Lakeland. William Hooper was in the 145 lb. C bracket and only got to wrestle twice, losing by pin to Patrick Elmore of Coeur d’Alene and by pin in 2:15 to Dylan Pascua of Mead. Jace Perrin wrestled twice in the 182 lb. A bracket, winning both times. He pinned Riley Loughman of Lake City in 1:17 and won by 16-0 technical fall over Ethan Jaeger of Riverside. The team has added another match as they will go to Lewiston this Friday, Dec. 22.
