Summit is 1-1 on the week
The Summit Lady Patriots were 1-1 in a pair of league games this past week.
On Tuesday, Jan. 9 they won at Highland 52-28 and on Friday, Jan. 12, they lost at Kendrick 30-41.
At Highland
Summit jumped out to a great start at Highland as they took an 18-9 lead after 1 quarter.
Highland rallied back through to tie the game at the half at 22-22.
Summit got the upper hand in the third quarter as they took a 32-26 lead into the fourth quarter where they finally broke the game open.
Summit outscored Highland 20-2 in the final period to win big.
Lexi Currier and Taylor Lustig were the big guns on offense with 18 points each. Lauren Stubbers returned from sitting out the Logos game to score 9 points, pull down 18 rebounds and combine with Erin Chmelik for 18 steals. Chmelik scored 5 points and Jessie Sonnen scored 2.

At Kendrick
In three of the four quarters at Kendrick, Summit played the Tigers close. Unfortunately Kendrick dominated the second quarter and that was enough for Kendrick to win the game.
Kendrick led 8-10 at the end of the first quarter but took a 15-28 lead by halftime after outscoring the Patriots 7-18 in the second quarter.
Summit outscored the Tigers in both the third and fourth quarters but just by 1 point each quarter and that wasn’t enough to eat away their 13 point halftime deficit.
Stubbers and Currier led Summit in scoring with 6 points each with Lustig and Claire Chmelik scoring 5 points each. Erin Chmelik and Sonnen scored 4 each.
Summit is now 5-4 on the season and in league play.
