Two earn medals at Orofino
Jace Perrin and Sierra McWilliams each earned a medal at the Maniac Invitational Wrestling Meet at Orofino Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12-13.
Perrin took second in the 182 lb. weight class while McWilliams was third in the 106 lb. class.
Friday night action was 4-person pods with all but Perrin competing for Prairie. 
In a 103-112 lbs. pod McWilliams won 1 of 3 matches. She won by pin in 1:36 over Gianna Skovajsa of Grangeville, lost by  pin to Demittio Morales of Lewiston and lost by 0-16 technical fall to Johnnie Raymond of C.V.
In Saturday’s bracket at 106 she had a bye to the semifinals were she lost a tough 13-16 decision to Morales. She had a 13-11 lead late but Morales scored an escape, takedown and 2-point near fall all within a few seconds to pull out the decision. She then received byes to the consolation final where she won a 10-4 decision over Landon Olsen of Clearwater Valley to finish in third place.
Lane Remacle competed in a 131-136 lb. pod on Friday and won 1 of 3 matches. He won by pin in 41 seconds over Kaylee Page of C.V. and lost by pin in 1:15 to Brayden Turcott of Orofino and lost by pin to Cameron Vetter of Moscow in 1:18.
In the 138 lb. bracket on Saturday he received a first round bye then lost by pin in 1:58 to Hayden Villa of St. Maries. In the consolation bracket he lost by pin in 3:57 to Landon Keen of C.V.
Will Hooper wrestled in a 140-144 lb. pod on Friday and lost 3 matches. He lost a 9-16 decision to Gregory Cooper of Lewiston, by pin in 3:29 to Nathan Martinez of C.V. and by 10-20 decision to Bergan Ostvig of Moscow.
In the 145 lb. bracket on Saturday he lost by pin in 58 seconds to Zachary Watson of Clarkston. After a bye in the consolation round he lost a 5-11 decision to Ostvig.
Tristin Staneart wrestled in a 151-152 lb. pod on Friday and lost 3 matches. He lost by technical fall, 1-17, to Carson Morrow of C.V. He lost by pin in 2:20 to Sebastian Darwish of Grangeville. Finally he lost by pin in 1:20 to Damon Shaw of Lewiston.
In the 152 lb. bracket on Saturday he received a first round bye then lost by pin in 1:13 to Gage Norton of St. Maries. In the consolation bracket he received a bye then picked up his first win of the season by pinning George Greenlee of Elgin in 1:47. In the consolation semifinals he lost by pin to Zane Rudolph of Lewiston in 47 seconds. In the fifth place match he lost by pin to Norton of St. Maries in 52 seconds to win up in 6th place.
Perrin wrestled in the 182 lb. bracket on Saturday and after receiving a first round bye, won by technical fall, 16-0, over Austin Corey of C.V. In the semifinals he won a 12-9 decision over Joseph Aguilar of Pine Eagle of Halfway, Ore.  In the finals he faced Peyton Whipple of C.V. and lost a 1-6 decision to wind up in second place.
