Perrin takes third
Jace Perrin placed third in the 182 lb. weight class at the Clearwater Classic Wrestling tournament held at Lewiston Jan. 19-20.
He was seeded 2nd in the bracket and won his opening match 6-0 over Jake Jeanneret of Jenkins High School of Chewelah, Wash.
In his second round match he won by pin in 2:20 over Gus Newman of Newport High School in Washington.
In the semifinals he came up against the eventual champion, Jevon Johnson of Southridge High School in Kennewick, Wash., and lost a 10-17 decision.
In a loser out match he won by pin in 1:36 over Cole Piepgras of Jenkins High School.
In the third place match he won a 9-2 decision over Lance Lorang of Lewiston.
The rest of the wrestling team went to the McCall where coach Pat McWilliams said they had so many cancellations they couldn’t hold the Mile High Tournament and those that attended basically held a dual with McCall-Donnelly.
Next action for the team is the Clearwater Valley Tournament this Friday and Saturday at Kooskia.
