Pirates wrestle at CV Duals
The Prairie wrestling team competed at the CV Duals Tournament Saturday, Jan. 27 at Kooskia.
The Pirates competed with Grangeville during the day to come as close to a full team as they could.
We will list just the results of the Prairie wrestlers.
Moscow vs. Grangeville
Sierra McWilliams won a forfeit at 106 and Dalton Ross won a forfeit at 113 lbs.
William Hooper lost by pin in 5:07 at 145 lbs. to Henry Stodick of Moscow in a match he led at the end of both the first and second periods.
Tristin Staneart lost by pin to Jacob Bracken of Moscow in 4:37 at 152 lbs.
Jace Perrin won by pin over Dante Tow of Moscow in 1:58.
Grangeville-Prairie won the dual 38-36.
Potlatch vs Grangeville
McWilliams again won by forfeit at 106.
Ross won by pin over Gianna Skovasja of Grangeville, who was wrestling for the Potlatch team at 113 lbs. Ross won in 1:57.
Staneart lost by pin in 31 seconds to Tanner Schmidt of Potlatch.
Perrin won by technical fall, 15-0, over Kyle Hueth of C.V., who was wrestling with Potlatch.
Grangeville-Prairie won the dual 41-35.
St. Maries vs. Grangeville
McWilliams lost by pin in 5:59 to Myles Hanson of St. Maries.
Ross lost by pin in 59 seconds to Sam Martin of St. Maries.
Staneart lost by technical fall, 1-16, to Gage Norton of St. Maries.
Perrin won by pin in 5:52 over Chad Dickerson of St. Maries.
St. Maries won the dual 47-31.
Orofino vs. Grangeville
McWilliams again won by forfeit.
Ross won by pin over Hunter Norris of St. Maries, who was wrestling with Orofino, in 1:03.
Hooper lost by pin to Nathan Martinez of Orofino in 40 seconds.
Staneart lost by pin to Kai Naranjo of Orofino in 5:44.
Perrin won by pin over JasavanWestling of Orofino in 2:44
Orofino won the dual 36-34.
C.V. vs. Grangeville
McWilliams again won by forfeit.
Ross won by pin in 3:36 over Johnnie Raymond of C.V.
Staneart lost by pin in 2:22 to Carson Morrow of C.V.
Perrin lost by 3-6 decision to Peyton Whipple of C.V.
C.V. won the dual 39-27.
Prairie will be hosting a dual meet this Thursday, Feb. 1. It will also serve as Senior Night for Jace Perrin.
Prairie has also added another tournament as they will be going to Challis Feb. 2-3.
