Pirates open against Rimrock
The Prairie Lady Pirates will open state play at 2 p.m. PST Thursday, Feb. 15 at Columbia High School in Nampa. They will play Rimrock of Bruneau, who was an upset winner of their District Tournament and brings an 18-5 record into the tournament. Rimrock was third in their league but knocked off #2 seeded Notus then beat #1 seeded Liberty Charter in the championship game. In the other game in Prairie’s half of the bracket you have another district champion who upset their #1 seed in Shoshone, who gave Oakley their first loss of the season. Shoshone at 19-3 will take on District 3 third place team Ambrose who is 17-7 on the season. In the other half of the bracket District 5-6 champion Grace will take on District 4 runner-up Oakley. Grace is 13-11 while Oakley is 22-1. That game is at 6:15 p.m. MST. Lapwai, at 18-4, takes on District 3 runner-up Liberty Charter, who is 17-7, at 8 p.m. MST. If Prairie wins their opener they would play at 6:15 p.m. Friday. If they lose they would play at 1:15 p.m. Friday. The consolation final on Saturday is at 9:15 a.m. at Columbia High School followed by the 3rd place game at 11 a.m. The championship game is at 11:30 a.m. at the Idaho Center.
