Accounting Basics – April 3,5:30- 8 pm, $20 Enrollment, 406 Main St., Lewiston ID, Instructor: Barbara Leachman; In this workshop, we will look at keeping score, records, accounting, financial reports, and information for decision making.
Attracting and Leading Employees – April 10, 5:30- 8 pm, $20 Enrollment, 406 Main St., Lewiston ID, Instructor: Barbara Leachman; Discovering employees, hiring them, then the training, motivation, documentation, taxes, and firing if necessary.
Intellectual Property – April 17- 5:30-7:30 pm, $20 Enrollment, 406 Main St., Lewiston ID, Instructor: Attorney Samuel Creason: He will be going over the basics of intellectual property: patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. He will also explain how intellectual property is created, how it can be protected, and how it can be lost. The factors facing a small business as it considers the level of investment it should make in its intellectual property will also be discussed.   
Retirement Savings Plans Available for Small Businesses - April 24, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, $20 Enrollment, 406 Main St., Lewiston ID, Instructor:  Eric Justis, Financial Advisor; There are qualified retirement plans designed specifically for small businesses.  Come learn about the different types of plan designs available for small or medium-sized companies, and see the benefits to both employees and employers. We will discuss eligibility, contribution limits, funding methods, investment options, tax treatment, and administrative costs.  For business owners or administrators offering a savings plan or considering it, this session can help explore whether one fits your business.

So, You’re Thinking About Starting a Business… What You Must Know – April 19, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, $10 Enrollment, LCSC Orofino Outreach Center, 416 Johnson Ave., Orofino ID, Instructor: Chris St. Germaine; Clearwater County Economic Development Director, will be presenting information specific to what you need to know about getting into business for yourself.  Join us for a conversation about the resources that are available to help you get started and what the regulatory requirements might be.  We will discuss how to evaluate the feasibility of the idea, how to identify where the markets might be and the business’s value.
