Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle:

Letter to the Editor
The only consistent conservative candidate running for the office of governor of Idaho is Raul Labrador.  He is the only one to be a proven leader in protecting the unborn.  He has shown courage in standing up to the political elites and fights for what we believe in.  You can trust Raul to protect our 2nd amendment rights and fight for our state.  Also remember he stands with President Trump and makes tough choices when others won’t.  Vote Raul Labrador for Governor May 15th

Redneck Review!
No. 155 - 4/8/2018
Last week, in noting the celebration of Easter, comments were made about the reality of the event which happened some 2000 years ago, when history records from several different sources noted the unusual event. A man crucified on Friday, suddenly appears alive and well, repeatedly to small and large groups over the next few weeks.
The most famous of these accounts, of course, is the Bible itself, claimed to be the most read book ever written.  But any serious student of history knows that the unusual event was the subject matter of many other books and was treated and referred to by dozens and dozens of other writers during the months and years which followed.
And of course, our world has chosen to use the event as the BC, AD reference point!
Finally, research reveals that over 30% of the world's population claim to be Christian, followers of that historical figure. Of course, to be Christian means that they not only do recognize the man Christ, but accepts His claim that He was God, the son of God.
Similar research notes that nearly 25% of the world's population claim to be Muslim, so again a group who accept a God supreme above all.  Then, including Hinduism, there is another 15% or so of the world's people who recognize gods of various types. While we are at it, why not mention the many primitive civilizations which historically claimed their gods: Romans, Greeks, Indians, Egyptians, tribes in South America, also in Africa, in fact nearly anywhere you look in the distant past!
So what is the point of all this? Simply that the slowly increasing number of individuals in our country and around the world who call themselves atheists, reminds us of the saying, the "tail is wagging the dog!"  In other words, they are bucking common sense, history, and the consensus of mankind!  Yet still, they have an extraordinary influence on all of us around them!  That cannot be denied, as the list of murdered people by atheistic men cited last time staggers the imagination, near 150 million we are told!  We need to ask,
How can this be?   How can such a tiny percentage be so much in control?
Is it not true that the large majority have allowed this to happen?  Does this not happen also in other ways and at other times?  For example, how can Planned Parenthood with its blatant support of abortions be so readily accepted by our people today?  After all, it is easy to show that its founder in 1916 was Margaret Sanger, a birth control activist, and a supporter of eugenics and its goal of improving the genetic quality of the human race.  Bluntly, Sanger advocated the slow reduction and elimination of inferior people, and the black race was one of the targets in her proposals!
Then how can it happen that the Democratic party is a solid backer of that organization, and tolerates and even promotes abortion as a woman's right?. At the same time, they claim to be the party of the under privileged and minority classes!  How can that be? It was the Republican Party under Lincoln that fought a bloody war to free the very people the founder of Planned Parenthood sought to weed out!  Records show today, that the abortion rate among black women is four to five times that of white.  What is going on here?  Do the American people today not know this? Are there deliberate attempts now or in the past to distort the record or to rewrite the history involved? There has to be an answer!  And would it not be wise to find out just what that answer might be?
