Prairie track team competes at two meets
Three girls relay teams grabbed first place finishes at the Orofino Meet Tuesday, April 10 while Sean Spencer took first in the 800 meter run at the Lapwai Invitational held Friday, April 13.
Orofino Meet
At Orofino the 4x100 team of Theresa Wemhoff, Ellea Uhlenkott, Jordyn Higgins and Laney Uhlenkott placed first in 55.07. The 4x200 team of Wemhoff, Ciara Chaffee, Higgins and Laney Uhlenkott placed first in 1:56.45 and the 4x400 team of the same 4 girls as the 4x200 took first in 4:37.60.
The highest individual placer at the meet was Spencer who took 2nd in the 800 in 2:10.32. He also took 3rd in the 300 hurdles in 45.78 and 5th in the long jump at 17’7”.
Other girls results:
Chaffee was 3rd in the 800 in 2:37.68 and 5th in the 1600 in 6:14.0
Sierra McWilliams was 3rd in the 3200 in 12:53.78.
Ellea Uhlenkott was 4th in the 200 hurdles in 55.00, 5th in the long jump at 13’3” and 10th in the 100 hurdles in 19.56.
Kristyna Krogh was 5th in the 3200 in 14:07.79 and 13th in the 400 in 1:19.08.
Koleen Hasselstrom was 5th in the discus at 86’11”.
CiCi Chavez was 9th in the 400 in 1:14.06, 12th in the 200 in 30.93 and 17th in the 100 in 14.99.
Maria Schmidt was 9th in the long jump at 12’4½”, 11th in the 400 in 1:15.97; 28th in the 200 in 33.62 and 29th in the 100 in 15.76.
Emma Gehring was 7th in the discus at 84’8”.
Trista Latimer was 18th in the shot put at 19’5” and 25th in the discus at 56’1”.
A fourth girls relay, the medley team of Wemhoff, Higgins, Laney Uhlenkott and McWilliams, placed 3rd in 2:03.96.
Other boys results:
Cole Martin was 9th in the long jump at 16’8½”, 9th in the 200 in 24.9 and 13th in the 100 in 12.20.
Derik Shears was 10th in the high jump at 5’0” and 16th in the 200 in 26.57.
Hayden Uhlenkott was 5th in the discus at 110’2” and 20th in the shot put at 31’0”.
James Villamor was 8th in the 3200 in 12:41.17, 9th in the 1600 in 6:03.00 and 20th in the 800 in 2:55.00.
Justin Lockett was 9th in the 3200 in 13:22.19, 10th in the 1600 in 6:10.00 and 26th in the 400 in 1:09.59.
Carson Schmidt was 10th in the discus at 100’5” and 12th in the shot put at 33’5”.
Matt Coppernoll was 12th in the discus at 97’4” and 26th in the shot at 30’3”.
Anthony Karel was 17th in the shot at 32’3½” and 27th in the discus at 73’10”.
Reid Uptmor was 22nd in the discus at 82’9” and 31st in the shot t 27’3½”.
John Gehring was 24th in the discus at 75’11”.
Daniel Megale was 24th in the 300 in 1:06.52 and 25th in the 200 in 30.20.
Wes Munger was 25th in the long jump at 12’2”, 28th in the 200 in 31.18 and 40th in the 100 in 14.65.
Zac Arnzen was 32nd in the 100 in 13.87.
Ryan Arnzen was 34th in the shot put at 25’3¼” and 34th in the discus at 64’4”.
Prairie had two 4x100 relay teams. Schmidt, Uhlenkott, Uptmor and Coppernoll took 8th in 49.76 and Zac Arnzen, Megale, Caleb McGee and Tyler Wemhoff took 11thin  53.25.
They also had two 4x200 teams. Martin, McGee, Shears and Spencer took 5th in 1:40.65 and Zac Arnzen, Gehring, Megale and Wemhoff were 11th in 1:56.65.
In the team scores the girls were 5th out of 13 schools with 71 points and the boys were 10th with 28 points.
Lapwai Invitational
Spencer was first in the 800 at Lapwai on Friday, April 13 in 2:10.90. He also placed 2nd in the 110 hurdles in 17.71 and 4th in the 300 hurdles in 45.06.
The highest finish for the girls team was the 4x200 relay team of Laney Uhlenkott, McWilliams, Chavez and Wemhoff which took 2nd in 1:55.12.
Other boys results:
Schmidt was 2nd in the shot put at 43’5½” and 5th in the discus at 118’4”.
Martin was 6th in the 200 in 24.86, 12th in the 100 in 12.39and 16th in the long jump at 16’7¾”.
Shears was 7th in the high jump at 5’0” and 23rd in the long jump at 15’11¼”.
Villamor was 9th in the 3200 in 13:13.01, 13th in the 800 in 2:50.76 and 15th in the 1600 in 5:53.39.
Lockett was 10th in the 3200 in 13:21.12; 18th in the 1600 in 6:07.51 and 37th in the 400 in 1:07.36.
Tucker Hibbard was 18th in the discus at 99’4” and 38th in the shot put at 28’2”.
Coppernoll was 21st in the discus at 93’0” and 39th in the shot at 28’0”.
Munger was 21st in the 200 in 30.08, 29th in the 100 in 14.46 and 47th in the long jump at 11’9½”.
Uptmor was 22nd in the discus at 91’10”, 33rd in the 400 in 1:04.90 and 36th in the shot at 28’4¾”.
Wemhoff was 22nd in the 1600 in 6:25.33.
McGee was 27th in the long jump at 15’5”.
Karel was 28th in the shot put at 31’3” and 28th in the discus at 81’3”.
Zac Arnzen was 39th in the 400 in 1:08.66.
Ryan Arnzen was 41st in the discus at 64’2” and 45th in the shot at 26’10½”.
Gehring was 42nd in the discus at 63’9”.
Megale was 47th in the discus at 58’3”.
The boys had 3 teams in the 4x100 relay. Shears, Munger, Gehring and Martin placed 11th in 52.85. Zac Arnzen, Megale, McGee and Wemhoff placed 14th in 53.16 and Ryan Arnzen, Hibbard, Uptmor and Schmidt placed 15th in 55.21.
The 4x200 team of Wemhoff, McGee, Megale and Zac Arnzen placed 14th in 1:54.70.
The medley relay team of Zac Arnzen, Schmit, Shears and Wemhoff placed 6th in 4:58.20.
Other girls results:
The girls team was missing several competitors due to the HOSA state conference.
The top individual finishes were 4th place finishes by Wemhoff in the 200 in 28.68 and in the 400 in 1:06.97 and by McWilliams in the 1600 in 6:02.33. McWilliams was also 5th in the 800 in 2:37.69.
Gehring was 6th in the discus at 86’1” and 13th in the shot at 27’3½”.
Hasselstrom was 6th in the shot at 29’3½” and 11th in the discus at 73’7”.
Laney Uhlenkott was 7th in the long jump at 13’8”.
Chavez was 7th in the 400 in 1:12.88 and 9th in the 200 in 30.64.
Schmidt was 10th in the 400 in 1:16.47, 23rd in the 100 in 15.73 and 26th in the long jump at 11’6½”.
The 4x100 relay of Laney Uhlenkott, McWilliams, Chavez and Wemhoff placed 3rd in 55.70.
As a team the girls placed 6th out of 18 teams with 43 points while the boys were 7th with 42½ pts.

Sean Spencer was running second at this point of the 800 but passed the Lewiston runner at right down the final stretch to win the race at the Lapwai Invitational.
