Track team competes at Meets of Champions
Prairie track athletes took part in two meets this past week. On Tuesday, May 1, several of the athletes took part in the JV Meet of Champions at Lapwai while the rest of the team competed in the Idaho District II Meet of Champions on Thursday, May 3 at Lewiston.
MEET OF CHAMPIONS
The girls medley relay was the top finisher for Prairie at the Meet of Champions at Lewiston as CiCi Chavez, Jordyn Higgins, Theresa Wemhoff and Sierra McWilliams took 2nd place with a time of 1:58.22.
Two other relays placed third, the 4x200 relay team of Wemhoff, Higgins, McWilliams and Chavez in 1:53.92 and the 4x400 team of Wemhoff, Higgins, Ciara Chaffee and Chavez in 4:25.54.
The top individual finisher was McWilliams in the 3200 with a 4th place finish in 13:04.14. She was also 5th in the 800 in 2:32.35.
The top finisher on the boys team was Sean Spencer who took 5th in the 110 hurdles in 16.68. He was also 6th in the 300 hurdles in 42.88.
Other girls results:
Koleen Hasselstrom finished 6th in the shot put at 30’11½” and 7th in the discus at 93’5”.
Chaffee was 8th in the 800 in 2:41.44 and 9th in the 1600 in 6:11.18.
Emma Gehring was 9th in the discus in 91’6” and 14th in the shot at 26’10¾”.
Ellea Uhlenkott was 13th in the 300 hurdles in 54.69 and 14th in the 100 hurdles in 19.27.
The girls 4x100 relay team of Wemhoff, Ellea Uhlenkott, Higgins and Chavez placed 6th in 54.16.
Other boys results:
Carson Schmidt was 7th in the discus at 116’1½” and 9th in the shot put at 39’6½”.
Hayden Uhlenkott was 10th in the discus at 111’7”.
Cole Martin was 12th in the long jump at 18’10½” and 20th in the 200 in 24.85.
Tucker Hibbard was 17th in the discus at 106’3½”.
JV MEET OF CHAMPIONS
Prairie had 4 first place finishers at the JV Meet of Champions. Kristyna Krogh was first in the 1600 in 6:26.22 while for the boys Matt Coppernoll was first in the discus at 118’8”, Damian Forsmann was first in the high jump at 5’4” and the medley team of Reid Uptmor, Daniel Megale, Derik Shears and Forsmann won with a time of 4:41.89.
Krogh was also third in the 3200 in 14:58.0.
Coppernoll also took 15th in the shot put at 30’7” and Forsmann was also 6th in the long jump at 16’6½” and 8th in the 400 in 1:01.04.
Other boys results:
Caleb McGee was 2nd in the 100 in 12.02, third in the 200 in 25.20 and 2nd in the long jump at 17’8½”. All are personal bests.
Hayden Uhlenkott was 2nd in the discus at 111’5”, 12th in the shot at 31’½” and 19th in the 200 in 29.01.
James Villamor was 3rd in the 3200 in 12:37.72 and 10th in the 1600 in 5:53.71.
Shears was third in the high jump at 5’4”, 5th in the long jump at 16’7” and 11th in the 100 in 12.85.
Justin Lockett was 5th in the 3200 in 13:16.41 and tied Villamor for 10th in the 1600 in 5:53.71.
Hibbard was 5th in the discus at 100’2” and 17th in the shot put at 29’10½”.
John Gehring was 15th in the discus at 86’8”.
Anthony Karel was 13th in the shot put at 31’10” and 17th in the discus at 81’10”.
Uptmor was 16th in the discus at 82’10”, 20th in the shot at 28’5” and 18th in the 400 in 1:06.97.
Tyler Wemhoff was 16th in the 400 in 1:05.99, 21st in the 100 in 13.69 and 21st in the 200 in 29.19.
Ryan Arnzen was 23rd in the shot put at 27’1” and 27th in the discus at 68’5”.
Wes Munger was 24th in the long jump at 16’6½”, 26th in the 200 in 30.58 and 28th in the 100 in 14.72.
Megale was 27th in the 100 in 14.41.
The 4x100 relay team of Zac Arnzen, Gehring, Megale and Wemhoff was 5th in the 55.51.
The 4x200 relay team of Zac Arnzen, Gehring, Megale and Munger was 5th in 1:58.57.
As a team the boys were third with 96 points
Other girls results:
CiCi Chavez was 3rd in the 400 in 1:09.83, 4th in the 200 in 30.25 and 13th in the 100 in 14.80.
Trista Latimer was 16th in the shot put at 19’7”.
As a team the girls were 8th with 27 points.
