Prairie Area Crop Tour is June 26
The Prairie Area Crop and Conservation Tour is slated for Tuesday, June 26th, 2018. The tour will begin with a hosted breakfast at 7:00 am at the American Legion Hall in Nezperce, ID. During breakfast Brett Wilder, UI graduate student, will present grain marketing information that he developed as an intern for the Idaho Barley Commission. Participants will board a tour bus at 8:00 am. Tour topics include spring wheat and barley varieties, pea and lentil varieties, spring/winter canola/rapeseed variety nurseries, winter wheat nurseries, and annual forages and cover crops for the Camas Prairie.  Speakers will include University of Idaho research and extension personnel. The tour will conclude by noon.
Participants need to pre-register by June 22nd by calling the Lewis County Extension Office at 208-937-2311. Certified Crop Advisor and pesticide applicator credits are applied for. The tour is presented in cooperation with University of Idaho Extension, Lewis County Soil Conservation District, Lewis County Wheat Growers, Idaho/Lewis Crops Extension Advisory Committee, and Idaho County Grain Producers.
