3 on 3 tournament set for Kamiah
Spencer Ryan Flerchinger, 15, of Kamiah, died July 31, 2018. Spencer attended Kamiah schools where he played basketball, was consistently on the honor roll, and helped with technology. Spencer was a founding member of the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) where he served as the Kamiah High School Representative. Spencer loved life. He lived to play basketball, ride his motorcycle and help others. His infectious laugh, sense of humor and his gentle nature will be greatly missed. In his honor, YAB will hold the 1st Annual Spencer Flerchinger Memorial Co-ed 3v3 Basketball Tournament on October 20th. Funds raised will be used to help the family with expenses and to establish a scholarship in Spencer’s name. The tournament will be played in all three gyms of the Kamiah schools. Co-ed teams of four must register by October 5th, there will be four brackets: 3-4th grade; 5-6th grade; 7-8th grade; 9th-adult. There will be prizes for 1st place winners of each bracket. Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:30 am with tip-off to begin at 9:00 am sharp. Concessions will be available as well as a 50/50 contest. Commemorative T-shirts and Basketballs will also be available. YAB is looking for volunteers for this event. All registration paperwork is available at 413 Main Street Kamiah.
