team is 5th, boys 10th at State
The girls team placed 6th and the boys were 10th at the State Cross Country meet held at Lewiston Saturday, Oct. 27. The top 20 finishers in each race received medals and the top 4 teams received trophies. Prairie came up short on both but it still was a successful season for the Pirates. Ciara Chaffee was Prairie’s top individual finisher with a 28th place in the girls race at 21:49.57. Tanner Hibbard was the top finisher for Prairie in the boys race with a 50th place finish in18:49.49. Other girls finishers were Kendra Duclos in 44th at 22:59.88, Kyleigh Duclos in 46th at 23:10.62; Jessie Sonnen in 52nd at 24:07.38; Maria Schmidt in 53rd at 24:15.11; Mattie Lustig in 56th at 24:31.95 and Hope McIntire in 67th at 25:24.63. Other boys finishers were James Villamor in 64th at 19:24.58; William Hooper in 79th in 20:47.90; Tyler Wemhoff in 81st at 21:04.39; Justin Lockett in 82nd at 21:38.40; Alex McElroy in 86th at 23:32.59 and Ryan Arnzen in 88th in 26:33.11. Devin Ross was unable to compete due to injury.
