Diabetes awareness month
November is diabetes Awareness Month, hence the reason why Walk With Kate is in November. This month is used to bring awareness and support to a disease that affect millions of people around the world, including many in our local community. Come walk or donate at Walk With Kate on November 3rd to help support diabetes awareness in your community. The walk starts at Prairie Elementary School at 10:00 a.m. and continues to St. Mary’s Clinic and back. At St. Mary’s Clinic there will be a health screening, where you can have your blood tested. If you are younger than 18 you will need a parent permission form to participate in the health screening. These forms will be available at the walk, so come early to fill them out or contact Kate Lustig to obtain a form to bring to the walk. Other than that the walk and health screening are free, so even if you cannot donate please come and participate. There will also be a limited amount of t-shirts available at the walk for $12, so latecomers will not get one.
To donate please contact Kate Lustig, who is organizing this walk for her senior project.
