School Board meets
The school board held their regular November meeting Monday, Nov. 19.
The board approved going out for bids on the next phase of the heating units at the Jr./Sr. High School as well as for a new bus.
Jon Rehder was asked how the units installed this past summer were working. He said they are working well. It’s different to have individual controls in each classroom.
Rene’ Forsmann discussed the survey results on all-day, everyday Kindergarten. She said at this time she felt there wasn’t enough support to go forward but will look at it each year as needed, especially if it gets funded by the state.
Board members reported on the Idaho School Board Association convention. Former Denver Broncos football player Karl Mecklenberg did a presentation on 6 habits for leadership and told them to let the community know what is going on in the school, especially all the positives.
Forsmann went through the state funding formula while Denise Uhlenkott attended a forum on open meeting laws and changes to board meetings and other items that affect the board.
The next section of the policy manual update was discussed and approved.
In reports Forsmann noted that there was 96.6% parental attendance at the parent-teacher conference as the Elementary School. 
They had an accelerated reader movie party on Nov. 8 for students who met their goals. There was also an attendance assembly on Nov. 8.
Elementary students went to the high school for the Veterans Day assembly on Nov. 12.
In her superintendent’s report she gave out some information on classified salaries.
In her facilities update she reported a diaper deck has been added to the family bathroom at the Elementary School.
Upcoming summer projects at this time are: 
Sealcoat the parking lot at the jr./sr. high school.
Add heating and cooling systems to upper floor at Jr./Sr. High School.
Repaint 10 doors at the Elementary.
Replace carpet in Elementary School band room.
Rehder reported the school received a donation for the band program from David Wilkinson Orthodontics.
Students of the month were Madison Shears and Carson Schmidt and were chosen by the teachers and appeared in the Chronicle.
33 veterans were recognized at the Veterans Day assembly which went very well.
72 students had parents show up for parent-teacher conferences out of 175 total students.
The high school gym is getting new scoreboards. Pepsi and the Prairie Booster Club are sponsoring the new scoreboards. The goal is to have them installed by the end of Christmas break. They will look at selling the old scoreboards which were installed in 1988.
Joy Miller from the State Board of Education came Nov. 7 and talked to seniors about scholarship opportunities.
A new batting cage was ordered and received for the high school gym. Greg and Colleen Sonnen donated to help with the purchase.
The Technical Road Show is at LCSC on Dec. 7. Mrs. Quintal and Mr. Hasselstrom will attend.
Rehder reported he  did interviews for a baseball coach on Nov. 16.
The board meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m. The next regular meeting will be Monday, Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
