Lady Pirates start 2-0
The Prairie Lady Pirates started the season with a couple of blowout road wins. 
On Thursday, Nov. 15 they won 71-16 over Clearwater Valley at Kooskia. They followed that up with a 64-24 win at Lewiston over the Lewiston JVs.

The Lady Pirates had an easy win at Kooskia over Clearwater Valley as they developed a huge lead by halftime and then cruised to a 71-16 win in the second half.
Prairie jumped out to a 22-7 lead after one quarter and outscored the Rams 31-4 in the second quarter to take a 53-11 lead at the half.
Coach Lori Mader said she had her team mostly just run offense in the second half looking more to run clock than score with their lead as big as it was. The fourth quarter was played under a running clock.
Prairie had 3 players in double figures led by Jordyn Higgins with 17 points. Ciara Chaffee scored 11 and Theresa Wemhoff scored 10. Kristyna Krogh scored 9, Madison Shears 8, Ellea Uhlenkott 7 and India Peery  and Alexis Hiler 4 each.
Higgins added 8 steals and 4 assists while Wemhoff had 7 steals and Hiler had 5.
Prairie actually outscored C.V. with just free throws as they were 17 for 30 at the line. Shears, Higgins and Krogh each had a 3-pointer in the game.
The JV team had a much closer game as they won 20-19 in a 2-quarter game.

At Lewiston JV
Prairie opened the game at Lewiston with full-court pressure and forced 19 first quarter turnovers as they built a 29-5 lead on their way to a 40-point win.
Prairie scored first on a lay-up by Theresa Wemhoff of a feed from Jordyn Higgins. Lewiston quickly answered but that was 1 of only 3 shots the Bengals would be able to attempt in the quarter.Jordyn Higgins goes for a lay-up at Lewiston.
Prairie answered with a 13-0 run with India Peery scoring 9 of those points. After a Lewiston free throw broke the run, Peery came right back with her second consecutive 3-pointer to make it 18-3.
When Lewiston made their second basket at the 1:10 mark to make it 20-5, the Bengals were hitting 100% of their shots to that point, 2 for 2. Basically every other possession ended in a turnover.
Prairie finished the quarter with a 9-0 run that included a banked in 3-pointer at the buzzer by Higgins.
Prairie extended the lead to 32-5 in the second quarter before taking their press off and slowing down the pace on offense. Only 2 players scored for Prairie in the quarter as Kristyna Krogh scored Prairie’s first 8 points of the quarter going 3 for 3 from the field and 2 for 3 at the line. Higgins scored the other 2 as Prairie led 39-13 at the half.
Prairie stepped it up on offense again in the third quarter, outscoring Lewiston 19-8. Wemhoff scored 8 in the quarter with Peery adding 5 and Higgins 4.
With Prairie up 58-21, the fourth quarter was played with a running clock and Prairie outscored Lewiston 6-3 for the final 40-point margin.
Prairie had 4 players score in double figures led by Peery with 17 on 7 for 10 shooting with two 3-pointers. Krogh scored 16 on 6 for 9 shooting. Higgins scored 13 and Wemhoff scored 12. Madison Shears, Ciara Chaffee and Ellea Uhlenkott each scored 2.
Lewiston had a 28-33 rebounding edge with Alexis Hiler leading Prairie with 8 rebounds. Peery added 7.
Peery had 6 steals with Wemhoff adding 4 while Higgins had 6 assists and Wemhoff 5.
Prairie was 26 for 52 shooting for 50%. If they had one weak point in the game it was free throw shooting as they went just 9 for 25 for 36%. Lewison was 8 for 23 from the field, 35%, and 7 for 19 at the line, 37%.
Prairie is now 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in league. They don’t play again until Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Genesee. Their first home game will be Friday, Nov. 30 against Potlatch.
The JV team also improved to 2-0 on the season with a 42-28 win.
Prairie jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the game and led 7-3 at the end of the first quarter with 5 of their points coming at the line. Molly Johnson had the only basket for the quarter.
Lewiston scored the first 2 baskets of the second quarter to tie the game at 7-7. Delaney Lockett scored on a drive to the hoop to put Prairie back on top. Lewiston got back within 1 at 13-12 with 3:21 left in the half but a 5-0 run which included Hope Schwartz hitting 4 of 4 at the line, led to a 6 point lead at the half at 20-14.
Prairie opened the second half with 6 straight points, a basket by Laney Forsmann and 2 more baskets by Lockett. Prairie outscored Lewiston 14-7 in the quarter as Lockett scored 7 to taking a 13 point lead into the fourth quarter.
Prairie then scored the first 8 points of the fourth quarter to take their biggest lead at 42-21. Lewiston scored the final 7 points of the game to cut the margin to 14, despite having just 4 players on the floor for the final 2:36. They had 2 foul out and a couple more that also played on the JV squad against Prairie’s varsity.
Lockett led the JV’s in scoring with 13 points with Schwartz adding 10. Johnson scored 9. Josie Remacle scored 3 as did Trinity Martinez, who had the game’s only 3-pointer. Forsmann scored 2 and Ali Rehder and Olivia Klapprich added 1 point each as everyone who played was able to score.
The JVs had a 50-39 edge on the boards with 3 players in double figures. Remacle led with 13 with Johnson and Schwartz adding 11 each. Lockett chipped in with 8 rebounds. 
Schwartz and Remacle each had 4 steals while Johnson had 3 assists and Forsmann, Schwartz and Martinez had 2 each.
Prairie was 14 for 48 from the field, 29%, and 12 for 38 at the line, 31%.  Lewiston was 11 for 45 from the field, 24%, and 6 for 15 at the line, 40%.

Two make all-State Tournament team
Two Prairie Volleyball players were named to the 1A-D1 All-state tournament team voted on by the tournament coaches.
Kristyna Krogh made the second team and Theresa Wemhoff was named as an honorable mention.
