Cottonwood City Council meets
Alcohol beverage licenses were approved at the January meeting of the Cottonwood City Council Monday, Jan. 14.
Licenses were approved for Riener’s Grocery, Cottonwood Foods and Rodonna’s. They were also approved for Doreen’s and the Mini-Village pending receipt of the rest of the necessary paperwork.
The Verizon tower lease agreement was approved for an additional six 5-year renewals under the terms agreed to.
A memorandum of understanding between the Cottonwood and Grangeville Police Departments for mutual aid was approved pending approval of the Grangeville City Council.
Phil Reed’s application for exemption from water/sewer connections for several trailer court sites was declined. Once he found out that meant removing those connections completely and would be an expensive re-connect if they were to be activated again in the future, he decided he didn’t want to go that route.
In the reports Pat Holthaus reported they pumped about 2.1 million gallons of water and sold about 1.8 million for a 13% loss. Testing came back good and there were no new leaks reported.
In the sewer report Roy Uhlenkott said they followed through with the purchase of the pipe bursting equipment.
Jack Duman reported the culvert grant got kicked back for some questions. They took care of those and resubmitted.
In land and buildings Uhlenkott said he checked out the issue in the library. It’s not water coming in, just appears to be the concrete sweating and blistering the paint. They will keep an eye on it.
Linda Nida reported the fire department had a couple of chimney fires with no damage. They are also looking at ordering some new turnouts.
The meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m. The next regular meeting will be Monday, February 11 at 7 p.m.
