Summit is 1-1 on the week
The Summit Academy Lady Patriots split a pair of league games this past week. On Thursday, Jan. 17, they lost 33-48 at Nezperce. They came back Friday, Jan. 18 and won a home game against Deary, 36-29.
At Nezperce
Nezperce jumped all over Summit in the first quarter, taking a 15-2 lead. 
From then on the game was played almost even as Nezperce outscored Summit just 31-33 over the final 3 quarters.
Summit trailed 9-23 at the half and 21-37 after three quarters.
Taylor Lustig and Jade Prigge each scored 12 points to lead the Patriots in scoring with Prigge also grabbing 11 rebounds. Lexi Currier added 7 points and Erin Chmelik scored 2.

Vs. Deary
Summit played just 5 players against Deary. Jessie Sonnen sprained her ankle against Nezperce the night before and although she suited up, she was noticeably limping during warmups.Taylor Lustig retrieves a loose ball under the Summit basket in the Deary game last Friday.
Summit jumped out to a 10-4 lead on the Mustangs with Prigge scoring 4 and Currier, Lustig and Dani Sonnen 2 each.
Deary then turned things around with a 0-8 run to give them a 10-12 lead. Prigge scored on an inbounds play just before the first quarter buzzer to tie the game at 12-12.
Currier scored a free throw to put Summit back on top but Deary answered with a 3-pointer. 90 seconds later Currier scored a 3-pointer for Summit that put the Patriots back on top for good. 
Currier added a lay-up and Prigge banked in a shot for a 20-15 lead.
Deary made it 20-17 at the half with a late basket. Summit held them scoreless for a 6 minute stretch in the quarter.
Prigge opened the second half scoring by banking in a perimeter shot.
After a Deary free throw, Lustig scored a rare basket. She was Summit’s leading scorer in their earlier matchup with Deary and the Mustangs made a concerted effort to keep her from getting any good shots.
After a Deary basket, Prigge scored on an inbounds play and Chmelik drove to the hoop for a basket that made it 28-20 after 3 quarters.
Deary scored on a 3 to open the fourth quarter and pull within 5 but Summit answered with an 8-0 run. Currier sank one from the perimeter. Lustig scored a pair of free throws. Prigge scored inside and Chmelik scored on an inbounds play to make it 36-23 with 2:12 to play.
Deary scored the final 6 points of the game to cut the final margin to 7 points.
Prigge scored 14 to lead the Patriots and added 13 rebounds. Currier scored 10, Lustig 6, Chmelik 4 and Dani Sonnen 2.
Summit dominated on the boards 45-26. Chmelik and Lustig also had double digit rebound totals with 12 each.
Chmelik had 4 steals and Lustig had 4 assists.
Summit was 16 for 53 from the field, 30%, and 3 for 6 at the line, 50%. Deary was 12 for 45 from the field, 27%, and 3 for 8 at the line, 38%.
Summit is now 6-6 on the season and 5-6 in league play. They have clinched 3rd place in the league which will have them hosting a play-in District game on Saturday, Feb. 2.
