March events for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ,
The call to surrender, prayer, and joyful sacrifice is the theme for the month of March.  This season of Lent gives us a chance to respond with intentionality to our God who so graciously gives of himself daily. As a young person this beautiful season is an invitation to grow in faith and action through opportunities provided throughout the parish community. Look and see what God may be calling you to do this Lent and respond with a “yes” as you move closer to him over these 4o days.
We begin the month with an invitation to Adoration on March 1st, especially our Confirmation youth.  This hour of prayer will take place at St. Mary’s at 10:00 and is a great “stopping” time to rest in the Lord and listen to his voice as you prepare to be Confirmed in May.
On March 3rd the Confirmation class will meet at the CEC at 11:30. Please have your Bishop letters ready to be handed in to Jim.  Debbie needs to mail them by March 11th.
March 4th brings with it an information night for all youth and adults going to ICYC.  We will meet at St. Mary’s Church at 7:00 and go over all of the details for the ICYC weekend.  If you cannot be present, please send a parent.
On March 5th everyone is invited to Lenten night hosted by PFFP. This night begins with Mass at 6:00 followed by a dinner and Lenten activities.  This is a great family event and I highly encourage participation.
On March 6th I will have soup and cheese sandwiches available at the OMG at 5:30 and will take anyone to Mass that would like to attend the Ash Wednesday services at St. Anthony’s in Greencreek.
Our God Squad team leaves for Boise to prepare for ICYC on March 7th at 10:45 so please be in the St. Mary’s parking lot at 10:00 a. m. with your bags and ready to go.  March 8th the youth and adults going to ICYC will meet in the St. Mary’s parking lot at 8:30 a.m. It is scheduled to be here at 9:15 but in the past the bus has been early so we need to  make sure we are here and ready to go at 8:30 a.m.
We will have an adult Confirmation retreat planning meeting on March 13th at the Habit at 7:00 p.m.
On March 15th Noelle Uhlenkott is planning a Jr. High Retreat at the CEC as part of her Senior project.  Please watch the bulletin for more information.
We will have the Rite of Sending for our teen catechumens on March 17th at the 10:00 a.m. Mass in St. Mary’s.  On March 18th this group will head to All Saints in Lewiston to meet the Bishop at the Rite of Election.   We will be leaving from the St. Mary’s Church parking lot at 4:30 p.m. and are so excited about this great opportunity for you to  meet the Bishop and continue your faith journey toward Baptism.
On March 20th the Haiti Team will be hosting a taco dinner fundraiser at the KC hall from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Our menu will consist of tacos with all of the trimmings, cookies, and a drink. Please mark your calender for this great event and thank you for your support!
The RCIT group will be meeting at Assumption for the 1st scrutiny on March 23rd at 5:00 p.m.
On March 25th the Haiti Mission team will meet at the OMG at 5:30 to plan the April pancake breakfast fundraiser.  On March 27th the High School and Jr. High are invited to a movie night at the OMG.  We will have food at 6:30 and a movie at 7:00.  Please tell your friends.
The Confirmation class will meet at St. Mary’s at 11:30 a.m. on March 30th to practice stations of the Cross.
Let your response to the Lord be “yes” as you live out this holy season of Lent
Blessings,
Debbie
