April events for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ,
The sun is shining through the clouds and the mounds of snow are slowing melting as I’m writing this letter! Each moment of movement in this season is an invitation toward growth.  The Spring flowers begin to speak words of beauty and greatness as they stretch toward the light of newness.  It is here in this invitation of greatness we invite you to stretch your roots and joins us in this month’s youth activities of praise, prayer, worship, retreat, study, fun and fellowship!
We begin this beautiful month with an invitation to a Lenten mission.  We are having Richard Lane speak on Thursday and Friday night after the 6:30 Mass at St. Mary’s Church.  Richard Lane has visited the parish before, and we are so excited to have him join us for these special nights filled with Spiritual reflection.
On April 5th the youth and their families are invited to an hour of Adoration at St. Mary’s on 10:00 p.m.  During this Lenten season the call to quiet, reflective calm before the Lord is the perfect remedy for an anxious heart.  Please consider joining me in this sacred time. I guarantee, your soul will be fed!
The Confirmation youth will be attending a Confirmation retreat on Saturday, April 6th at Summit Academy from 9:30 to 6:00.  Richard Lane will be the speaker as the youth delve deeper into the Sacrament of Confirmation and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  Please pray for our beautiful youth as they continue this sacred journey.  On April 7th we will continue toward our Easter celebration and Baptism.  The 3rd Scrutiny will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m. Mass.
On April 10th our High School girls will meet at Debbie’s office at 6:30 for “A night of Radiance”.  We will be continue discussing God’s call to holy and happy relationships.  All High School girls are invited and encouraged to attend!
On April 12th the Confirmation youth will be hosting the Stations.  I would like all youth involved to be at St. Mary’s Church at 4:30 so we can rehearse before the actual Stations at 6:00 p.m.
On April 14th the Confirmation youth and their sponsors will meet after the 10:00 a.m. Mass in the Sacred Heart room for a breakfast prepared by the Knights of Columbus. (Thank you Knights) We will have a short informational video and Confirmation details after the breakfast!  So, youth, please remember to invite your sponsor to this special event!
On April 15th the Jr. High are invited to a “Faith Night at the OMG room. We will have pizza at 6:30 and our session at 7:00.   We will not have any events on Wednesday of Holy week because I am involved in practice for the Easter Vigil.
On April 21st we celebrate Easter and our Lord’s resurrection.  May your day be absolutely blessed and filled with the grace of holy newness!
On April 24th the High School youth are invited to a night of prayer for and with each other at the OMG.  We will begin with food at 6:30 and begin our time of prayer with small groups at 7:00.  This is one of my favorite times with the youth as we gather to bring God’s presence and love deeper into their lives.  If you as an adult would like to join us, please let me know and remember dear youth this is a great opportunity to grow deeper into the fullness of faith and become all that God created you to be!
April 28th is our last class for Confirmation at the CEC at 11:30 a.m. Your sponsor projects will need to be turned by this date!  Confirmation practice will take place at St. Mary’s on May 29th at 7:00 p.m.  All youth who will be confirmed, along with their sponsors will need to attend this practice.  (Confirmation is on May 1st at St. Mary’s at 7:00 p.m.)
May the risen Lord fill your heart with hope and peace during this beautiful month of April!
In Grace filled hope,
Debbie
