Pirates have 4 Regional Champions
The Prairie girls track team qualified all 4 relays for state with Ciara Chaffee and Cole Martin each qualifying in 3 individual events at the Regional Track Meet at Kamiah Friday and Saturday, May 10-11.
The girls 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays each won Regional Championships while the medley relay finished third but qualified for state in one of the at-large berths.
Ellea Uhlenkott, Jordyn Higgins, Sierra McWilliams and Theresa Wemhoff made up the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays. They won the 4x100 in 52.82, the 4x200 in 1:52.23 and the 4x400 in 4:23.14.
Chaffee, McWilliams, Wemhoff and Higgins made up the medley team which finished third in 1:59.34.
Chaffee won the 800 in a personal best time of 2:30.14 and also qualified for state with a 3rd in the 1600 in 5:56.60 and a 3rd in the 3200 in 13:00.47.
Martin was 2nd in the 100 in 11.72, 2nd in the 200 in 24.10 and 2nd in the long jump at 18’3½”.
The only other individual to qualify for state for the girls was Ellea Uhlenkott with a 3rd in the 300 hurdles in 50.98.
Also qualifying for the boys was Matt Coppernoll who took second in the discus at 130’3”, just an inch shy of winning the event; and Carson Schmidt who qualified in both the shot put and discus. He was 3rd in the shot put at 41’8” and 3rd in the discus at 127’2”.
Other girls events:
Kyleigh Duclos was 7th in the 1600 in 6:19.43 and 7th in the 3200 in 14:04.46.
Kendra Duclos was 8th in the 1600 in 6:23.60 and 11th in the 3200 in 14:52.25.
Emma Gehring was 8th in the discus at 91’10” and 14th in the shot put at 27’9½”.
CiCi Chavez was 10th in the 400 in 1:11.19 and 20th in the 100 in 14.61.
Ali Rehder was 14th in the 400 in 1:13.76, 27th in the 100 in 15.20 and 28th in the 200 in 32.52.
Hailey Stubbers was 16th in the 400 in 1:15.35, 21st in the 100 in 14.67 and 23rd in the 200 in 31.29.
Halle Klapprich was 16th in the 1600 in 6:58.62, 27th in the shot put at 22’0” and 30th in the 200 in 33.33.
Koleen Hasselstrom was 17th in the shot put at 26’9” and 25th in the discus at 67’4”.
Jade Gehring was 19th in the 400 in 1:19.71, 31st in the 200 in 35.27, 34th in the discus at 57’1” and 36th in the shot put at 15’5”.
Other boys results:
Coppernoll also finished 9th in the shot put at 36’5½”.
Hayden Uhlenkott was 7th in the discus at 117’4” and 18th in the shot put at 33’1½”.
T.J. Hibbard was 7th in the 800 in 2:11.01, 15th in the discus at 94’10” and 21st in the shot put at 32’9”.
Jesse Cronan was 7th in the long jump at 17’2½” and 11th in the discus at 103’11”.
Zach Rambo was 9th in the 400 in 58.63.
Brody Hasselstrom was 9th in the discus at 108’4” and 14th in the 100 in 12.72.
Reid Uptmor was 10th in the 400 in 59.25, 13th in the shot put at 34’8 ½” and 20th in the discus at 86’9”.
William Hooper was 13th in the 400 in 1:00.89 and 24th in the shot put at 30’11”.
James Villamor was 13th in the 1600 in 5:30.48 and 13th in the 3200 in 12:04.70.
Tyler Wemhoff was 14th in the 3200 in 12:12.03, 16th in the 1600 in 5:41.89 and 21st in the 400 in 1:06.16.
Justin Lockett was 14th in the 800 in 2:34.78 and 20th in the 1600 in 6:01.41.
Zac Arnzen was 16th in the 200 in 28.12 and 17th in the 400 in 1:03.12.
Ryan Arnzen was 20th in the 3200 in 16:06.02 and 24th in the 1600 in 7:16.51.
The boys medley relay team of Hasselstrom, Cronan, Martin and Hibbard took 4th in 3:55.49.
The 4x100 team of Zac Arnzen, Cronan, Hasselstrom and Schmidt was 5th in 50.29.
The 4x400 team of Lockett, Villamor, Rambo and Wemhoff was 5th I the 4:30.82.
The 4x200 team of Hooper, Zac Arnzen, Rambo and Uptmor was 6th in 1:48.10.
As a team the girls placed third with 70 points behind Troy and Logos while the boys placed fifth with 66 points behind Kamiah, Genesee, Troy and Logos.
Summit Academy’s only competitor was Erin Chmelik. She competed for Prairie during the season but had to wear Summit colors for regionals. She was 7th in the 300 hurdles in 53.90, 8th in the long jump at 14’ 1½”, 10th in the 100 in 14.05 and 10th in the 200 in 29.02. She scored 3 points for Summit giving them a tie for 18th.

State Track Meet info
The State Track Meet will take place again this year at Middleton High School on Friday and Saturday, May 17-18.
Field events start Friday at 9 a.m. MDT with Cole Martin competing in the first flight of the long jump. Matt Coppernoll and Carson Schmidt will be both be in the second flight of the discus competition which also starts at 9 a.m.
Schmidt will compete in the shot put starting at 5 p.m. He will be in the first flight of that event.
The girls 3200 final starts at 9:30 a.m. with Ciara Chaffee in that event.
Running prelims start at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. They start with the girls 100 hurdles and boys 110 hurdles. The 100 prelims follow with Martin in the first of 3 heats.
The 400 prelims follow then there will be a break to set up for the 300 hurdles. Ellea Uhlenkott will be in the 2nd of 2 heats for the girls.
The 200 prelims follow with Martin in the 2nd of 2 heats.
Once the prelims are done the medley relay finals will be held with Prairie’s girls slotted for lane 8.
Finals start at 12:30 Saturday.
They will start with the hurdles finals. 
Next up is the 4x200 meter relay with Prairie’s girls slotted for lane 6.
Next are 100 meter finals then the 800 meter run in which Chaffee will be competing.
Following the 800 is the 4x100 meter relay with Prairie’s girls running in lane 3.
Next are the 400 finals followed by a 20 minute break.
The 300 meter hurdles finals are next followed by the 200 finals then the 1600 final in which Chaffee will be competing.
After the 1600 finals, the meet will close with the 4x400 meter relay. Prairie’s girls will be in lane 3 for that event.

Prairie was running 2nd at this point in the 4x400 relay as Jordyn Higgins hands off to Sierra McWilliams. McWilliams passed the Logos runner at right and handed off a lead to anchor runner Theresa Wemhoff who went on to finish first.

Ciara Chaffee in the 3200. She finished third in both the 3200 and 1600 and won the 800 to qualify for state in all 3 events.
