Cottonwood Summerfest is this weekend
The first ever Cottonwood Summerfest is coming up this weekend.
Events start on Friday with a Kids’ Dance at the City Park from 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 27, is the main day of the event with the following events all taking place on Main St.
There will be a breakfast at 8 a.m. 
The Parade is set to start at 10 a.m.
There will be Lawnmower Races starting at 11 a.m.
A Kids Dog Show is set for 11:30 a.m.
The Egg Toss will take place at Noon.
There will be a Ping Pong Ball Drop at 1 p.m.
A Watermelon Eating Contest is set for 2 p.m.
A Hay Bale Throwing Contest is set for 4 p.m.
BBQ Contest Judging is set for 6 p.m.
A Street Dance with live music by “Five Smooth Stones” is set to start at 7 p.m.
Other events downtown all day will be bouncy castles, vendors, and a dunk tank.
Also all day Saturday there will be two softball tournaments at the Wimer Ballfields.
One is an adult tournament and the other is a high school age co-ed tournament.
Another event on both Friday and Saturday is that Coyote’s (formerly the Mini-Village) will be offering free mule rides. On Friday starting at 3 p.m. at Coyote’s and on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. downtown.
On Sunday, July 28, there will be an ATV Poker Run that starts at Doreen’s on Main Street at 11:30 a.m.
