turn out for Volleyball
There are 28 girls out for volleyball at Prairie which includes 4 from St. John Bosco Academy (SJB) since that school didn’t have enough turn out to have their own team. Making up the varsity squad will be seniors Anna Kaschmitter, Ashton Landers, Brooklyn Riener, Sydnee Bruegeman and from St. John Bosco, Erin Chmelik. Juniors are Madison Shears, Sierra McWilliams, Hope Schwartz, Ellea Uhlenkott and Halle Klapprich. A sophomore, Trinity Martinez, completes the varsity squad. On the JV team are sophomores Olivia Klapprich, Laney Forsmann, Delanie Lockett, Josie Remacle, Mackenzie Key, Ali Rehder and SJB’s Jade Prigge. Freshman on the JV are Tara Schlader and Kristin Wemhoff. On the C team are sophomores Elycia Graham and SJB’s Dani Sonnen and freshmen Chloe Rowland, Holli Schumacher (the young lady we weren’t able to identify in the photo from the Dusk ‘til Dawn event), Amelia Uhlenkott, Julia Rehder, Riley Enneking and SJB’s Makayla Rose. Sophomores Key and Rehder will be swing players for the C and JV. Julie Schumacher returns as head coach with Marlene Forsmann as JV coach. Prairie’s first action will be a league match at Potlatch next Tuesday, Sept. 3. Their first home match is a league match against C.V. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. They were to have played in a Jamboree on Tuesday, August 27 but that first got moved from Kamiah to C.V. and then got cancelled. Prairie is looking at hosting a preseason Jamboree next year.
