Lots of medalists at Spartan Invite
Prairie had 5 top 10 finishers in the high school cross country races at the Spartan Invite at Deyo Reservoir, Thursday, Sept. 26, and 3 in the junior high races.
Ciara Chaffee was 3rd in the high school girls race in 23:26 with Kyleigh Duclos in 7th in 25:02 and Jessie Sonnen in 8th in 25:03.
William Hooper was 5th in the high school boys race in 20:30 with Kyle Schwartz passing 3 runners in the final 100 or so meters to place 7th in 20:59.
The girls team placed 2nd behind Troy as Mattie Lustig was 11th in 26:53 and Sierra Chapman was 15th in 33:30.
The boys were short 1 runner to have enough for a team as Justin Lockett was 18th in 23:25 and Caleb McGee was 23rd in 24:38. Prairie runners Connor Brown and Morgan Poxleitner are both battling foot issues.
In the Jr. High girls race Zoe Hooper placed 1st with a time of 12:27 with Addie Crowl in 5th in 14:28. Katrina George was 12th in 16:55.
In the Jr. High boys race Lee Forsmann placed 6th in 12:59.
The next meet for Prairie is the big Inland Empire Meet in the Lewiston Orchards Saturday, Oct. 5.

Somewhat of a tradition for the cross country team is to jump into the body of water at the event after the race has finished.
