Wrestling team competes at 2 tournaments
Cottonwood Youth Wrestling Club welcomed several new wrestlers to our club this year. We started out the season strong at our first tournament in Potlatch. It’s a long drive but the kids always have so much fun. Our first place champions were Troy Uhlenkott, Devon Schultz and Chris Schumacher. Those who won second place medals for their age and weight group were Cael Tacke, Zaeden Sprute and Corbyn Tacke. Our third place winners were Raiden Ross, Steel Uhlenkott and Grace Uhlenkott. For our second tournament we drove to Moscow and had several kids earn medals there as well. First place was Troy Uhlenkott and Chris Schumacher. Third place winners in Moscow were Cael Tacke, Zane Duclos, Corbyn Tacke and Devon Schultz. Then on to Orofino the following Saturday for several more medals. With first place medals we had Zaeden Sprute and Chris Schumacher. Second places was Raiden Ross and third place winners were John Seubert and Devon Schultz. Kooskia results are not available but all of the kids wrestle great and had fun. Our last tournament was in Grangeville on Saturday. The kids ended the season strong with 6 more medals. Cael Tacke, Corbyn Tacke, Jack Chambers and Devon Schultz took home first place medals. Chris Schumacher and Adrian Deimler earned second place medals and Derek Pack earned a third place medal. With all of the hard work these kids and their coaches put in we had a very successful season. We would like to thank Steve Lamont, Ryan Uhlenkott, Jeff North, Shane Poxleitner and Stephanie Duclos for volunteering their time to coach our kids! |
