Lady Pirates win three
The Prairie Lady Pirates won 3 games this past  week, 2 of them league games. On Tuesday, Dec. 10 they won 77-29 over Clearwater Valley at Kooskia. On Thursday, Dec. 12 they traveled to Riggins where they beat Salmon River 53-35. Finally on Saturday, Dec. 14, they hosted Troy and won 67-23.
At C.V.
In the game at C.V. Madison Shears connected for a girls team record of eight 3-pointers and scored 27 points. She also tied the overall school record for 3-pointers in a game that had been set by Beau Schlader and later tied by Hunter Chaffee of the Prairie boys team.
Prairie jumped out to a 23-6 lead by the end of the opening quarter and made it 48-14 by halftime. After a 16-6 third quarter, the fourth quarter was played with a running clock and Prairie outscored the Lady Rams (Ewes?) 13-9 in the fourth quarter.
Shears had 7 of her 3-pointers by halftime.
Ellea Uhlenkott added 17 points while India Peery scored 11 with three 3-pointers.
Kristin Wemhoff and Sydnee Bruegeman each scored 6 points with Ciara Chaffee scoring 5, Delanie Lockett 3 and Josie Remacle 2 points.
Uhlenkott added 7 rebounds and 6 assists while Chaffee and Lockett combined for 8 assists.
The JV team won a 2-quarter game 29-10.

At Salmon River
The game at Salmon river was close throughout the first half as Prairie led just 11-10 at the end of the first quarter and 22-19 at the half.
With only 6 players on the Salmon River roster, Prairie was able to pull away from a tiring Salmon River squad in the second half, outscoring them 21-7 in the third quarter.
Prairie picked up their defense in the third quarter which led to the Savages tiring. 
India Peery led the scoring effort with 18 points which included four 3-pointers. Chaffee scored 13, Shears 6, Uhlenkott, Tara Schlader and Wemhoff 4 each and Lockett and Bruegeman 2 each.
Uhlenkott led the team with 5 rebounds while Shears had 4 steals.
Of note, it was discovered late in the first half that the game had been played with a boys basketball up to that point.
There was no JV game.

Vs. Troy
In the home game against Troy the Lady Pirates jumped out to a 9-0 lead. Peery opened the scoring with a 3-pointer and Uhlenkott and Shears each followed with a basket. 2 free throws by Uhlenkott made it 9-0.Ellea Uhlenkott pushes between two Troy defenders for a shot.
Troy scored their first points at the 5:14 mark. They never got any closer than 7 points though as Prairie answered with a lay-up by Chaffee and after another Troy basket, a driving lay-up by Shears and a putback by Chaffee for a 15-4 lead.
Troy twice pulled back within 9 but Prairie answered with a 7-2 run to close the first quarter for a 24-10 lead. Shears wound up with 11 of those first quarter points.
In the second quarter Lockett opened the quarter with a putback and Wemhoff followed with a free throw. After a Troy basket, Prairie reeled off 13 straight points as they forced 11 second quarter turnovers. In that 13-0 run 6 different players scored with Shears being the only repeat scorer with a pair of baskets. Lockett, Schlader, Bruegeman and Peery scored a basket each and Bruegeman a free throw.
Troy finally broke through with a pair of free throws to make it 40-14 at the half.
Prairie outscored Troy 19-9 in the third quarter as Uhlenkott scored 6 points while Lockett and Peery added 4 each.  Wemhoff added 3 and Chaffee 2 as Prairie took a 59-23 lead into the fourth quarter.
Prairie outscored Troy 8-0 in the running clock fourth quarter as Troy was only able to attempt 1 shot. 
Prairie had 4 players in double figures in the game led by Shears with 14. Uhlenkott scored 12 with Peery adding 11 and Lockett 10. Chaffee scored 8 while Wemhoff had 6, Remacle 3, Schlader 2 and Bruegeman 1.
Prairie dominated the boards 45-26 with Chaffee grabbing 7 to lead the team. Lockett, Shears and Peery added 6 rebounds each while Uhlenkott had 5.
Shears, Uhlenkott and Lockett each had 5 steals in the game while Uhlenkott, Peery and Lockett each had 3 assists.
Prairie was 26 for 75 from the field, 35%, and 12 for 26 at the line, 46%. Troy was 10 for 26 from the field, 38%, and 2 for 3 at the line, 67%.
Prairie is now 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in league play.
The JV team was supposed to play Nezperce but that game got cancelled due to lack of players for Nezperce due to illness.
