Lady Pirates lose to Lapwai
The Prairie Lady Pirates suffered their first league loss of the season when they lost to Lapwai 48-66 at Cottonwood Thursday, Dec. 19.
Prairie led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter but Lapwai outscored them 9-15 in the second to take a 20-25 halftime lead.
Lapwai extended the lead to 36-47 by the end of the third quarter.
The Pirates rallied back within 5 at one point in the fourth quarter before Lapwai finished strong to win by 18.
Ciara Chaffee led the Lady Pirates in scoring with 15 points with India Peery also hitting double figures with 11. Ellea Uhlenkott scored 8, Madison Shears 7, Delanie Lockett 4, Tara Schlader 2 and Kristin Wemhoff 1.
Prairie is now 8-2 on the season and 4-1 in league play. They don’t play again until Monday, Jan. 6 when they host the Lewiston JV/Sacajawea 9th grade.
Lapwai also won the JV game 46-54.
