Lady Pirates win at Kamiah
The Prairie Lady Pirates wound up playing just 1 game this past week out of 4 scheduled games with the rest cancelled due to weather conditions.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, they traveled to Kamiah where they won 50-15.
Prairie jumped out to a 20-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and led 30-12 by halftime.
Prairie led 40-15 after 3 quarters and shut out Kamiah 9-0 in the fourth, invoking the running clock early in the quarter.
Madison Shears connected on four 3-pointers and led the scoring with 16 points. Delanie Lockett also scored in double figures with 10 points and added 9 rebounds.
Ellea Uhlenkott scored 7 points, India Peery 6, Kristin Wemhoff 5, and Ciara Chaffee and Tara Schlader 3 each.
Shears and Uhlenkott each had 4 steals.
The JV team won a shortened game 26-14.
Games cancelled were Friday at Cottonwood against Salmon River, Saturday at Troy and Monday at Genesee.
The Genesee game will be made up Monday, Jan. 20 at Genesee with the JV game to start at 4:30 p.m. The school is working on rescheduling the Troy game.
