Soil Health Workshop set for Feb. 11 at Ferdinand
The 7th Annual  Soil Health Workshop is slated for Tuesday, February 11, in Ferdinand at the Assumption Parish Hall, 514 Maple St.  Registration will begin at 8:30 am with the program to begin at 9:00 a.m.
Featured speakers will be: Dr. Christine Jones, Soils and Carbon Biologist, Australia, talking on “A fresh look at microbes” and “The extraordinary power of diversity.”  Shawn Nield, NRCS Soil Scientist, will be talking on “Investigating the Soil Food Web.”  A local producer panel will discuss their perspective on cover crops.
This educational workshop is hosted by the Lewis Soil Conservation District, Idaho Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Clearwater Soil and Water Conservation District. Registration and lunch fee of $10.00 at the door.  Please RSVP by February 3 to Lewis Soil Conservation District at 208-937-2291 ex 3, so a head count of how many to prepare lunch for.
